Chapter 74 Dementors
As the saying goes, the end of the universe is the system.
This theorem also applies in the magical world.
The two professions of staff at the Ministry of Magic and teachers at Hogwarts are equally sought after and loved by wizards...even the Dark Lord is not immune.
When he was young, Tom wanted to be a teacher at Hogwarts and then become a Defense Against the Dark Arts professor.
Unfortunately, things didn't go as planned. He failed in interviews twice in a row and was rejected by two principals. The young Dark Lord became angry and made a great wish:
Any Defense Against the Dark Arts professor at Hogwarts will have misfortune and will not be able to hold the post for more than a year.
Although Voldemort has never officially responded to this rumor in public, in the past few decades, the Defense Against the Dark Arts position... has changed teachers more frequently than the national football team changes coaches.
Defense Against the Dark Arts has used its glorious record to prove that this position is indeed no ordinary evil sect.
Therefore, it is a law of cause and effect in this world not to be the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor at Hogwarts...it cannot and cannot be exceeded!
So, when he heard that Sirius had become the new professor, Rove had only one thought:
How many lives do you have, so squandered!
You just came out of Azkaban Advanced Training Class, and you want to send yourself away, right?
However, Sirius is very stubborn and does not believe in evil. He explained:
"I know there may be a curse on this position, but not all professors are dead, many left Hogwarts alive."
There are indeed teachers who left alive, just like Lockhart in the original time and space. He did not die, but his memory was completely lost and he was admitted to the permanent area of St. Mungo's Hospital of Magic.
There is also Umbridge, who was first insulted by the centaurs, and finally entered Azkaban after the war.
It’s not a good ending!
"Don't try to persuade me. I know what I'm doing. If there really is Voldemort's curse, I want to see it."
Sirius laughed heartily, vividly displaying the boldness and wantonness that existed in his boyhood.
"Besides, this position must be taught by a wizard. Dumbledore can't find a suitable candidate. Either me or Remus will come.
Rather than put him in danger, why don't I give it a try. "
Compared to his friend Lupine, Sirius felt that his own life was not worth begrudging, otherwise he would not have stayed in Azkaban for more than ten years.
"Also, I heard Harry said that Snape also teaches at Hogwarts and has applied many times to be the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor." Sirius raised the corners of his mouth and said with a evil smile:
"The course that Snape has been thinking about so much has been taken away by me. It will be very interesting for him when he finds out."
Sirius smiled with a mischievous smile.
Rolf sighed softly.
I would rather face the curse myself than let Snape get what he wants... "Good brothers" like Sirius and Snape may never be available again.
Wait... they won't fight after they meet, right? !
Hermione crossed her arms, frowning and asked keenly:
"Sirius, do you hate Professor Snape?"
"It's better to say they are mortal enemies than hateful ones." Sirius said in disgust:
“We didn’t like each other from the first day we were on the train.
Snape was a greasy-faced, smooth-faced, glib-voiced little boy who knew more spells than half of the seventh-year students when he first entered school. "
"Snape was also very fascinated by dark magic. He was absorbed into a Slytherin gang, and the people in that gang..."
"Almost all of them later became Death Eaters!"
"You mean...Professor Snape is a Death Eater?" Neville asked with a look of horror on his face.
"Neville, Professor Snape is not a Death Eater." Rove said softly: "You have to remember that he may not be a good person, but he is definitely one of ours... someone we can trust."
Sirius looked at Rolf. He didn't know why the young man trusted Snape so much, just like he didn't understand why Dumbledore trusted Snape.
Luofu blinked his eyes that were as bright as blue crystals and said softly:
"Sirius, I know that hatred and prejudice can never be eradicated, but please don't judge a person easily with your fixed ideas."
"I understand." Sirius calmed down. He put his arm on the boy's shoulders and smiled:
"Rolf, I am willing to believe what you say. After all, it was you who saved me... In short, I will not easily conflict with Snape."
At this moment, there was a loud noise in the corridor. A woman with a nice smile and dimples knocked on the door of the cubicle and asked:
"Honey, do you want to buy some food?"
"Mrs. Sutherne, do you still remember me?" Sirius waved.
"Sirius? I saw the newspaper said you were released from prison." Mrs. Sutherne smiled.
"Yes, madam, you are still the same as before."
Sirius picked up a chocolate frog and after swallowing it, he smiled and said:
"It's still the same taste. I've missed it for eleven years. I used to hate eating this thing. When I was in Azkaban, I don't know why, but I suddenly always miss it."
"Eat more if you like." Mrs. Suthern smiled kindly and said, "You don't have to pay this time. I'll treat you to food."
"Thank you, ma'am," Sirius smiled.
After the witch selling snacks left, Sirius stayed in the carriage for a while before getting up and leaving.
He wanted to check the train for any traces of Peter, and then go find his godson Harry.
Rolf and the others also ate snacks and played wizard chess.
Crookshanks jumped around in the carriage, and seemed to be very interested in Neville's toad, Leif.
After Leif was cured of ADHD, he liked to sleep on Neville's head and ignored Crookshanks.
Unconsciously, it started to rain heavily, and the window glass showed a thick and sticky gray, which gradually deepened.
The sky was getting darker and darker, and the lights in the corridor and luggage racks were all lit.
Just then, the train began to slow down, the sound of the wheels became smaller, and the sound of wind and rain outside the window became louder.
Neville looked out the dark window and asked, "Have we arrived yet?"
"No, there's still at least an hour to go." Hermione glanced at her watch and wondered, "Why did the train stop now?"
"It's the Dementors." Rolf stood up and explained, "They're coming to check if Peter is here."
"The Dementors are getting on the train?" Neville gasped and looked very scared.
The wizards in the magical world, apart from the Dark Lord, fear Azkaban and Dementors the most.
The train suddenly shook and stopped, all the lights went out instantly, and the carriage fell into complete darkness.
Rolf snapped his fingers, and flames lit up all around, illuminating the carriage. He opened the door of the carriage, and several Dementors appeared in the aisle in the distance.
They wore black hooded cloaks, their bodies were gray, and they looked like rotting corpses. When they inhaled, they made a gurgling sound in their throats.
Rolf looked at the group of Dementors, and suddenly there was a "ding" sound in his brain.
