Show Your Power

Chapter 616: A Show of Power

The demon ape was thrown into the air, with a look of confusion and helplessness on its face.

Qin Mu saw this and couldn't help but wonder: "It seems that the big guy hasn't come to his senses yet. He doesn't know why he won."

He turned his head and looked at Master Ma, thinking, "Master Ma is a well-known honest man in the village. This time he chose the big guy to fight and defeat the Buddha's son of the twenty Buddhas in the Buddhist world. This idea is indeed very smart. Did Master Ma do it on purpose, or is the big guy's Buddhist teachings really unfathomable? Why do I feel like the villagers are giving Master Ma a bad advice behind his back?"

Master Ma said that the monks' chanting of the Buddha's name disturbed the Buddhas in the twenty heavens. This idea came from a mute, and only a mute could be so mean.

Sending the demon ape to fight, this kind of infuriating style is more like the work of a lustful blind man.

The blind man's mind eye is good at finding gaps to sneak in. His gun skills do not vary much, or even have no moves, but he always hits the opponent's weak points. This is because he can see through the true and false of all moves.

Let the demon ape go to fight. The demon ape is not talkative to begin with, and always speaks out words one by one, which shows the essence of arguing without arguing.

If a debate really took place, the monks of the Great Leiyin Temple would probably not be able to defeat the twenty Buddha disciples in the heavens, so not debating became the key to victory.

And the demon ape is just such a person.

"But the big guy is indeed a man of great wisdom. He has made amazing achievements in Buddhist practice."

Qin Mu looked at the demon ape, and he was full of admiration. He thought, "He doesn't know that he won, nor does he know why he won. Although he fought, his mind was empty, and he didn't know who won or lost. This is the way a Buddhist fights in the void. No wonder the Buddhas of the twenty heavens changed their way of addressing him, calling him Junior Brother. By the way, both the blind grandfather and the dumb grandfather fought for Master Ma, so where are they now?"

Granny Si and the Black Tiger God returned from Luofu Heaven, but were nowhere to be seen, which made him quite puzzled.

"Eat, strong!"

Qin Mu stayed and had a vegetarian meal. The demon ape kept urging him to eat more. From time to time, he clenched his fists and bent his strong arms to show Qin Mu that he ate a lot and had a strong body.

The vegetarian meals in the Great Leiyin Temple are mostly vegetables, tofu and steamed buns. In front of the demon ape is a huge iron bowl, which is four or five times larger than an ordinary pot. It contains pine needles and pine cones, the demon ape’s favorite food.

Qin Mu ate some vegetarian steamed buns until he was full.

Master Ma put on his cassock again, returning to his identity as Ma Rulai, and said to the monks, "The Buddhas have granted us three places to go to the Buddhist world to study. Of the three places to go to the Buddhist world, Zhan Kong will take one, Ming Xin will take one, and I am a little hesitant about the other place."

Monk Jingming smiled and said, "Why is Tathagata hesitating?"

Ma Rulai said, "Brother, Zhan Kong has wisdom, and Ming Xin is even more experienced. They are both excellent when they go to learn the Dharma. However, learning the Dharma does not test wisdom, but understanding. One must turn the understanding of the Dharma into magical powers and combat power, so that one can defeat demons and deal with future disasters. Having Buddha nature does not necessarily mean superior combat power. This is what I am worried about. Zhan Kong and Ming Xin both have Buddha nature, but they are just a little inferior in understanding."

An old monk said, "If that's the case, why doesn't Tathagata go there in person?"

Ma Rulai shook his head and said, "I am already a Buddha. I cannot pass the barriers of this world and cannot directly reach the Buddha realm. Therefore, I can only find a person with extraordinary talent and understanding from among the younger generation to go on my behalf, comprehend the supreme Dharma, and pass down the Dharma. This person has put me in a difficult position."

The monks of the Great Leiyin Temple also frowned. Although Ma Rulai said that the Demon Ape and the young monk Mingxin were not enlightened enough, in fact, Ma Rulai's requirements were too high. The qualifications and enlightenment of the Demon Ape and the young monk Mingxin were already the best among the younger generation of the Great Leiyin Temple.

It is simply impossible to select a young monk from the Great Leiyin Temple who can surpass them!

Ma Rulai came to Qin Mu who was eating vegetarian food, and the magic ape brought a handful of pine needles to Qin Mu and invited him to eat.

The other old monks also looked over and saw Qin Mu taking the pine needles, kneading them into a cake, eating them in three or two bites, and then eating a few bites of steamed buns.

"How is it?" Ma Rulai asked the monks.

All the monks said in unison: "Good man. The Tathagata's Dharma Eye is unparalleled!"

"Let me go to the Buddhist world?"

Qin Mu had finished his meal and was called by Ma Rulai. Hearing what he said, he couldn't help but widen his eyes and said in a lost voice: "I am the leader of the Heavenly Demon Sect, and I have had grievances with the Great Leiyin Temple. If I go to the Buddhist world to study the law, won't I be beaten to death by the Buddhas?"

Ma Rulai smiled and said, "The Buddhas of the Buddhist world have no grudges against you, nor do they have any grudges against the Tiansheng Sect. The Buddhas became Buddhas and established the Buddhist world before the fall of the Kaihuang era. The grudge between the Great Leiyin Temple and the Tiansheng Sect happened after the fall of the Kaihuang era. The Buddhas are sensible and will not embarrass you."

Qin Mu was still a little hesitant: "This is an opportunity fought for by the monks of the Great Leiyin Temple. If I, an outsider, go there to seek Dharma and study, wouldn't that dash the monks' hopes?"

Ma Rulai shook his head and said, "Only if you go can there be hope. This time you are going to the Buddhist world to study, and what you will learn is the supreme Buddhist teachings of the Great Leiyin Temple, the Buddhist power that reaches the imperial throne. I am afraid that Zhan Kong and Ming Xin will not be able to comprehend the essence, so it is more appropriate for you to accompany them."

Qin Mu no longer refused and asked, "What should I pay attention to when I go to the Buddhist world?"

"When in Rome, do as the Romans do. You should know the local customs very well. I don't need to explain it to you."

Ma Rulai said meaningfully: "The Buddhist world does not help the Great Leiyin Temple in the lower world, not because they are unwilling to help, but because they cannot help, so you have to be careful of both open and hidden attacks."

Qin Mu felt a chill in his heart and immediately understood the meaning of his words!

The reason why the Buddhist world is so cautious, besides being afraid of the power of the so-called Heaven, is probably that Heaven has already planted countless spies and forces in the Buddhist world!

This time when they go to the Buddhist world to study, the spies and forces in heaven will definitely take action against these monks who come from the lower world!

One can imagine the blood and gore involved.

This is probably the reason why Ma Rulai insisted on letting him go!

Although the demon ape Zhan Kong is very intelligent, he has more wisdom than experience. The experience of the young monk Mingxin is enough, but his experience in the world before was just to join the army and gain experience in the army. In terms of conspiracy and emergency response, he is much inferior to Qin Mu.

Qin Mu has experienced more dangers and even faced off against demons like Fu Ri Luo. His ability to adapt to changing circumstances is among the best among the younger generation.

The purpose of Ma Rulai asking him to go, in addition to comprehending the supreme Buddhist Dharma, was also to protect the safety of the demon ape and Mingxin.

"Do you need to shave your head?" Qin Mu asked.

Ma Rulai smiled and said, "Did you see that I have shaved my head?"

Qin Mu looked up at his head and saw that his hair had turned into fleshy buns, which were pearls of wisdom that were refined from the three thousand strands of worries by Buddhism.

Ma Tathagata said: "Some people regard troubles as obstacles to their practice, so they want to get rid of all the troubles in their hair, but Buddha turns troubles into wisdom. The more troubles one has before becoming a Buddha, the greater the wisdom after becoming a Buddha. Even Tathagata did not shave his head, so why should you do it too?"

Qin Mu smiled and said, "Thank you for your advice."

The Buddha's heavens shone brightly, hanging high above the city of Li.

These layers of heavens seemed illusory, but upon closer inspection, they were extremely deep and contained immeasurable space. In the twenty heavens, large Buddhas appeared one after another, and Buddhist sounds lingered. A Buddha pointed with his hand, and a ray of Buddha light shone through the twenty heavens. Other Buddhas pointed to the temple in the city, and the Buddha light gathered into a stream and turned into a column of light.

Ma Rulai led the monks to the Buddha Light Pillar, nodded to Qin Mu and others, and said, "Be careful on your way."

Qin Mu nodded, and stepped into the light column with the demon ape and monk Mingxin. The Buddha light column slowly rose and soon sank into the twenty heavens of the Buddhist world. Qin Mu and the other two stepped on the bottom of the light column and were also brought into the twenty heavens of the Buddhist world.

Qin Mu, Mo Yuan and Ming Xin kept their feet on the ground. When they looked up, they saw a grand temple building in front of them, with pagodas, huge Buddhas and countless monks.

Under their feet was a magnificent mountain, and looking down, they saw the Buddhist kingdom everywhere, magnificent and golden.

Just one of the heavens has a vast territory comparable to that of Yankang, with many Buddhist countries living in peace.

A monk came to greet them and bowed, saying, "Three brothers from the lower world, the Amitabha Temple is in front of you, please come in!"

Qin Mu and the other two returned the greeting and said, "Please, Senior Brother, lead the way."

The monk led the way and said with a smile, "Brother Zhankong's attainments in Buddhism are unfathomable. I have listened to him all the way and admire him very much. Who are these two junior brothers?"

Mingxin gave his Dharma name and said, "This is Mr. Qin from the Great Leiyin Temple."

The monk's eyes fell on Qin Mu and he said, "Mr. Qin? No wonder you practice Buddhism with your hair uncut."

Qin Mu smiled slightly and said, "May I ask which Buddha built this Amitabha Temple?"

The monk smiled and said, "Mr. Qin, you don't know that the Amitabha Temple was built by Dharma King Morun. Dharma King Morun is an enlightened Buddha in the heavens, with countless disciples and profound Buddhist teachings. Many brothers have learned about Brother Zhankong's Buddhist attainments, and they also want to learn about Brother Zhankong's supernatural powers."

Qin Mu's heart sank slightly. This Amitabha Temple might be the sphere of influence of Heaven, the power that Heaven has planted in the Buddhist world!

"Master Ma found me a good job."

He couldn't help but feel a little headache. They had just arrived in the Buddhist world, and the forces of Heaven were trying to give them a warning. This was definitely not their intention!

Monk Mingxin said, "Brother, we are here to learn, not to compete in supernatural powers. After learning the supreme magic, we will return to the lower world. We don't want to offend our brothers in the upper world."

They arrived at the mountain gate of Amitabha Temple, and the monk said with a smile, "Only by practicing and competing can we know the strengths and weaknesses. What's there to offend? You can go in!" After that, he pushed Qin Mu and others from behind, pushed them into the temple, and then closed the door.

Qin Mu, Mo Yuan and Ming Xin looked forward and saw a mountain path in front of them. On both sides of the path, there was a pair of monks standing on both sides every ten steps, holding monk staffs with solemn expressions.

At the top of the mountain at the Amitabha Temple, a young monk in a yellow robe shouted, “Pray to the Buddha, kneel up on the mountain!”

The demon ape and Mingxin frowned slightly. Mingxin whispered, "Master Qin, what should we do? Do we really have to kneel down and kowtow? Our escape route has been blocked."

At the mountain gate, many monks were blocking the way with weapons in hand.

"No problem."

Qin Mu smiled and said, "Don't do anything, just walk up the mountain."

The demon ape and Mingxin started climbing the mountain. The young monk on the top narrowed his eyes and shouted, "Fight!"

On both sides of the mountain path, monks swung their sticks at the three people!

Qin Mu's sword ball suddenly flew out and turned into a large ball about three meters in diameter, shining brightly, and the sword light lingered, and with a buzzing sound, it cut the robe of the monk who was holding the staff into pieces. The monk stood there naked, at a loss.

"My fellow brothers from Amitabha Temple!"

Qin Mu snapped his fingers and the sword ball whizzed up the mountain along the mountain path. Wherever it passed, the monks standing on both sides of the mountain path were stripped naked in an instant. The monks hurriedly dropped their monk staffs to cover their lower bodies.

Qin Mu asked loudly: "Have you ever seen such a big relic?"
