A Magical Journey Starting at Hogwarts

Chapter 21 Snape's Special Question

In the underground classroom, the first-year students of Gryffindor and Slytherin were gathered in this classroom.

There was a crucible on each student's table, and the alcohol lamp kept heating them. The white smoke rising from the crucible added a little peculiar smell to this slightly dark classroom full of various specimens.

Bang!

The door of the classroom was suddenly pushed open, and the sun shone in through the door frame.

Professor Snape, dressed in a black robe, strode to the podium and instantly attracted everyone's attention.

"In my class, you are not allowed to wave your wand casually or chant spells for no reason." Professor Snape said, his tone was high, and his serious face was full of deterrence.

"In fact, I don't think many of you know how to appreciate the profound science and precise craftsmanship of potion making, but for those few top students, and those who are really interested..." At this point, Snape's eyes fell on Aaron and Draco sitting in the front row, as if they were the few top students.

Draco smiled flattered, but Aaron was not necessarily flattered, because he knew very well that Snape only glanced at him and then looked under the table.

"Gaius, don't bring your pet to my class next time, otherwise your cat may be melted into the crucible if it accidentally falls into it."

"It won't, this guy is very smart." Aaron answered seriously.

"Heh! The process of making potions is quite cumbersome. A small mistake will make a pot of priceless potion completely scrapped. If this consequence is caused by your cat, then..."

"I will pay! Double compensation, I will never let you suffer a loss." Aaron said immediately.

"What if there are casualties?"

"The Gaius family is fully responsible."

Professor Snape looked deeply at the white cat at Aaron's feet, with a little solemnity in his curious eyes, and he didn't care about this problem.

He tightened his robes and set his sights on the students below again, "I can teach you how to cast spells on the mind and how to trap the senses.

I will teach you how to store fame, brew glory, and even teach you how to make the elixir of life."

At this time, a 'rustling' sound came from behind Aaron, which was the sound of the pen tip rubbing against the paper.

Aaron subconsciously looked over and saw Harry Potter writing something, so focused that he didn't even raise his head.

He hurriedly winked at Hermione next to Harry, signaling her to tell the student with glasses next to him to stop writing, as this was not an important note.

Just as Hermione was about to push Harry's arm, Snape spoke up, "By the way, maybe some of you already have extraordinary abilities when you come to Hogwarts, and you have enough confidence to think that you don't need to concentrate on my lectures."

Snape walked to the side of Harry Potter and looked down at him, "Mr. Potter, our generation of celebrities.

Tell me, what will happen if I add narcissus root powder to wormwood stem liquid?"

Hearing this question, Aaron was slightly stunned, turned around and looked at Professor Snape's back, and sighed with some regret.

Harry was stunned for a few seconds and shook his head.

"Don't know? Then I'll ask you something else.

Mr. Potter, if I need bezoar, do you know where to find it?"

"I don't know, teacher." Harry said nervously, his heart began to sink gradually, he didn't understand why Snape was targeting him so much, these questions might have answers in the book, but he was not as studious as Hermione, not to mention that his uncle's family didn't let him touch anything about magic before he started school.

He was a complete novice in the magic world, it would be strange if he could answer it.

Hermione raised her right hand high after hearing this question, but Snape turned a blind eye.

"What is the difference between Aconitum naviculatum and Aconitum davidianum?" Snape continued to ask.

Hermione raised her hand higher, eagerly hoping that she would answer this question for Harry.

"I don't know, sir." Harry said weakly, with a little grievance in his tone.

"What a pity." Snape said lightly, "Obviously, fame alone is not enough.

Right, Mr. Potter?"

Draco smiled in agreement. He was about to turn around and mock Harry Potter, but he saw Hermione's raised right hand and his face immediately darkened.

Obviously, Hermione Granger was particularly clear about this question that he didn't know either.

"You need capital to mock others." Aaron said in a low voice, "Only if you are good enough can you stand on the top with peace of mind."

"Well said." Snape turned around quickly, "Mr. Gaius, then please answer my question just now."

"Me?" Aaron pointed at himself speechlessly, and then pointed at Hermione who was raising her right hand, "Shouldn't it be Hermione?"

"In my class, not everyone who raises their hand high can answer the question." Snape sneered, "Her behavior is just unnecessary.

Then he glared at Hermione, "Now, sit down."

Hermione immediately put down her right hand and sat upright, but her face was full of dissatisfaction.

"You can answer my questions, Mr. Gaius."

Aaron stood up slowly, "Bezoar is a stone taken from the gall of a cow, which has the effect of detoxification. Aconitum and Aconitum chamaejasme are collectively called Aconitum, which is the same plant.

As for the first question, what will happen if the powder of narcissus root is added to the liquid of wormwood stem? I... don't know, let Harry Potter answer you later!"

Snape was slightly stunned, and his eyes looking at Aaron were more surprised, "You are really special, one point for Slytherin, sit down!"

"Thank you, professor."

"As for Gryffindor, a certain student disappointed me a little, deduct one point." Snape said mercilessly.

"That's not fair!" Harry said, "Didn't Aaron answer all the questions?"

"Very good, questioning the teacher's decision will result in another point deduction."

Harry wanted to say something else, but Hermione pulled his sleeve and he could only lower his head helplessly.

Potions class continued, Snape divided the students into groups of two, but perhaps because Aaron brought his pet, he was in a group alone.

But this was just what he wanted. After all, if there was no reliable teammate, it would be better to do it alone for such a potion configuration that could cause an explosion or even more serious consequences if there was a slight mistake.

In this class, Snape taught the students a simple potion for treating boils. Except for Aaron and Draco, most of the students, including the Slytherin students, were criticized.

Of course, some small accidents occurred during the preparation of the potion. For example, a student did not add some raw materials in time during the preparation of the potion, causing the potion for treating boils to become a potion for generating boils, which made Snape very angry.

However, after getting angry, he still sent the injured student to the infirmary with a cold face.

After class, all the students rushed to the hall to enjoy their lunch.

Harry kept complaining on the way, "Professor Snape is really annoying."

"Indeed, this is the first time I have seen such an annoying teacher." Hermione nodded in agreement.

"Nothing strange.

Snape is the dean of Slytherin. He likes to target Gryffindor when he has nothing to do. George and Fred are often deducted points by him.

Didn't you see how much he favors Aaron and Malfoy?" Ron said sarcastically.

"Uh... I seem to hear my name. What are you discussing?" Aaron came over and asked, followed by his little pet.

"We are discussing the partiality of a certain professor." Ron looked at Aaron unhappily and said.

"Oh..." Aaron's face showed a look of realization, "Are you talking about Professor Snape? I think he's pretty good!"

"What's good about him? It's okay to be partial, but he's also so strict."

Hearing Ron say this, Harry nodded in agreement.

"It's right to be strict. Potions class is a very rigorous process and there can't be any mistakes.

As for the partiality you mentioned... maybe!

But the dean of each college will instinctively favor the students of his own college, which should be harmless."

"But..." Harry wanted to say something, but was interrupted by Aaron.

"I know you may feel a little wronged, let me tell you the answer to Professor Snape's first question!

Daffodil root powder added to wormwood stem liquid can be configured into a very effective sleeping pill."

"You know?"

Several people looked at Aaron in surprise, wondering why he didn't answer this question in class.

"Of course I know. When I was bored, I used to read to kill time.

But this question is asked by Mr. Snape alone. It is a question with special meaning. Harry, you may need a long time to answer it."

"You know what it means, right?" Hermione asked, "Can you tell us?"

Aaron pondered for a moment and shook his head, "I'm sorry, Hermione, I really can't tell you.

Harry needs to understand this question himself, but it's not so easy to accept it."
