Chapter 755 The Difference Between Buddha and Demon

Thus I have heard: Just purify the original mind, make the six consciousnesses go out of the six gates, in the six dusts, without stain or mixture, come and go freely, and use without hindrance. This is the Prajna Samadhi, free liberation, observation of freedom, seeing the Tathagata, everything is from the heart, free and at ease.

That is to teach those sentient beings to practice the holy way, so that they can get rid of delusion. After getting rid of delusion, they can obtain the infinite wisdom of the Tathagata, benefit and comfort all sentient beings. This is the tenth aspect of the Tathagata's heart, and all Bodhisattvas and Mahasattvas should know it like this.

This is the original words of the Buddha.

Because the four words "Thus I have heard" mean what was heard under the seat of the Tathagata, and can only be used in this situation. This is what Shariputra said to Li Qiming, what he heard in front of the Buddha.

This sentence means that although "I am the only one in heaven and earth", in fact, everything is from the heart, it does not mean that the heart is everything. The so-called freedom of the "heart" is limited.

And the boundary of the heart is the boundary of freedom, and the boundary of freedom is determined by wisdom.

‘The Tathagata in the heart’ is not the only subjective, but the subjective of oneself.

In other words, my subjective is not ‘the demon’, but ‘myself’

This is a very smooth logic.

If everything is really free, and ‘heart’, that is, self-consciousness, is the greatest and most extreme freedom, then… how is the demon sealed?

Therefore, the freedom of the demon actually requires the demon to use wisdom to mediate.

Even if it is ‘the sum of all realities’ and ‘the end of all dharmas’, the demon believes that he is everything and everything is a part of him, but the boundary of his freedom is still his own ‘wisdom’.

The demon wants to pursue an absolute free heart and become the perfect thing of all, so… the demon has achieved absolute unfreedom.

The demon who seems to be free, the demon who seems to be ‘everything is determined by the heart’, because of this point explained by the Buddha, leads to the absolute distinction between Buddha and demon.

It is so turbid, who can make it clear by being still? Who can live slowly by being at peace? Those who protect this Tao do not want to be full. Only because it is not full, it can cover up the new achievements.

This sentence means that chaos is like dirty water. Who can calm down the turbidity and slowly clarify it? Who can make the quiet change and slowly show vitality?

No one can.

The world is chaotic and everything will be in change.

Therefore, the "Tao" will not be complacent. It is precisely because the "Tao" is never complacent that it can be renewed, keep progressing, and constantly innovate a new reality.

This is freedom. The world driven by the "Tao" and the changing world have the motivation to progress. Because of the satisfaction of wisdom itself, we will do all kinds of things and complete things that were once impossible to complete.

Therefore, Buddhism chooses to teach sentient beings to learn to think, learn to use wisdom to seek the original heart, and finally get wisdom and freedom.

This is the difference between Buddha and demon. This is the definition of freedom.

Buddha frankly acknowledges the boundaries of "freedom" and the limitations of "heart". Buddha is not as greedy as demons. He does not regard himself as the "ultimate" and does not want everything. Instead, he gets freedom.

Demons expand the ‘heart’ to the boundaries of everything, making the ‘heart’ the cause of everything and the foundation of all things, but thus bind their hearts to ‘everything’.

Since the ‘heart’ is ‘everything’, then the ‘heart’ is also bound to ‘everything’, and above everything, there is nothing.

But the Buddha completely removes the bondage of the heart. The freedom of the Buddha is the freedom of a person who has achieved great wisdom after enlightenment and is freed from all causes of suffering.

This alone is enough to explain how the Buddha suppressed the demons.

Yes, the Buddha is the demon.

Because... the Buddha is the heart, and the demon is also the heart. In this respect, the two are the same.

But through the Buddha's lightness, the ‘Buddha heart’ and the ‘demon heart’ are distinguished, and the Buddha heart that everyone has is separated from the demon heart that is unique to all things.

The unity of Buddha and demon does not seem to be so difficult to understand.

Those who are forever free from delusion and attachment can see the Tathagata in their own body. The vast wisdom is called the Buddha.

Demons are the ultimate delusion and obsession. They think that their own hearts are all realities and they are obsessed with perfection above perfection. Only by giving up such obsession, clarifying confusion, and leaving anger and ignorance behind can one become a Buddha.

The nature of the Dharma is boundless, how can it be measured by the heart?

The true nature is not a form, how can it be explained by words? Therefore, sentient beings are vast and infinite, and the Dharma sea is boundless?

What the demon said is like looking for shapes in a mirror, realizing that the Dharma is unborn, and transcending with one thought. Why should we talk about it in detail?

This is Prajna Paramita, that is, the wisdom of the other shore, or the ultimate wisdom.

There is a true scripture in Buddhism, called the "Heart Sutra of Prajna Paramita", which is probably the case.

Of course, the demon is sure that he does not agree with this conclusion, but as long as this conclusion makes sense, it can prove the difference between Buddha and demon.

After the Buddha looked at it and explained it, Li Qi suddenly felt that... the demon seemed to be a little pitiful.

So he couldn't help but praise the Buddha.

Is this the wisdom of the Buddha?

Everything that Shariputra explained was completely understood by Li Qi at this moment.

Shariputra saw this, clasped his hands together, and a Dharma image rose behind him. His Dharma image was not in human form, but a Bodhi tree.

Hundreds of thousands of leaves grew on the Bodhi tree, which were blown by the breeze. The wind blew the branches and leaves, producing countless wonderful Dharma sounds, which spread, were clear, sad, bright, subtle and elegant.

Looking at the leaves again, there were hundreds of thousands of Buddha countries, each of which chanted merits and praised Shariputra.

Li Qi saw the Bodhi tree, heard its sound, smelled its fragrance, and touched its light and shadow. Suddenly, he felt that his six senses were clear, free from all troubles, and he remained unregressed. All sufferings disappeared.

Seeing Li Qi's relieved expression, Shariputra smiled slightly, and then recited: "Donor, listen to me, you must eliminate all unwholesome dharmas and achieve all wholesome dharmas. Because of the solemnity of the divine power, you can always make your body light and your mind happy. Because of the solemnity of the five roots, you have a firm faith, and you are diligent and unremitting. You are always free from delusion, quiet and docile, and you can eliminate all troubles. Because of the solemnity of power, all enemies are eliminated and no one can destroy them. Because of the solemnity of the enlightenment factors, you are always good at awakening to all dharmas. Because of the solemnity of the right path, you can always get the right wisdom."

"The sea can still be measured by a bucket, and the abyss can still be explored. All living beings should seek the way with all their hearts, and they will not stop making efforts. They will achieve the fruit. What wish cannot be obtained? You should think about it yourself and know that you should control the pure dharma yourself."

These words made Li Qi's eyes, which had been closed, open again.

Pure and quiet dharma!

He knew that the method that the Buddha used to suppress the demons in the formless realm was the Pure Method!

And now, what the other party said was the key point of the Pure Method.

Li Qi immediately sat down and listened carefully to the true meaning of the Tao.

Because these words were just the ‘principles’, and knowing the principles, if you want the method, you need to watch the performance, which is why Shariputra showed the Dharma.

Li Qi observed the Dharma, and the subtle techniques began to operate.

At the same time, these techniques began to form a Dharma field.

Shariputra put his hands together, and suddenly, many ghosts appeared in front of him.

There were resentful spirits and evil ghosts. Unsurprisingly, they all died unexpectedly.

These ghosts are causally related to Li Qi and Shariputra. In fact... they were killed by Li Qi.

Before Li Qi attacked the demons, he directly crushed a world on the world ring, and all the creatures in this world were annihilated.

Because of this, most of these ghosts died in ugly ways. Some were swollen like steamed buns, some were blown beyond recognition by something, or had incomplete bodies, or were covered in blood. Anyway, none of them had their remains properly collected.

Now that these evil ghosts have been summoned, the monstrous resentment is rolling in.

Li Qi seemed unaware. After all, for him, the resentment of these evil ghosts combined together could be extinguished in a snap of a finger. Even these evil ghosts could not get close to him. The "heavenly principle" circulating around him was enough to annihilate everything.

However, facing Shariputra, he saw many resentful spirits and evil ghosts, but there was no resentment or evil spirit.

Because Shariputra was sitting here, and behind him stood a Bodhi tree made of seven treasures, with seven treasures and leaves.

Coral, amber and other seven treasures were used as decorations, and wonderful flowers grew among the leaves. The flowers and leaves had thousands of colors, and the veins seemed to have hundreds of paintings, like a heavenly necklace.

There are many wonderful flowers, the color of Jambu-tan gold, like a spinning fire wheel, with great light, and the wonderful flowers transform into countless banners and precious canopies, and the flowers bear fruit, which is the Buddha land of the ten directions, and all the Buddha affairs are also manifested in it.

As Sariputra preached, lotus flowers appeared out of thin air in the sky, with twelve petals, and the flowers fell in the sky, playing the Dharma sound, the sound is subtle, preaching the paramita of suffering, emptiness, impermanence, and non-self.

These flowers are golden and emit subtle light. Each lotus leaf is a small boat, with 84,000 veins, like a sky painting, and one vein has 84,000 lights, which are clear and visible.

Around the lotus, there are Bodhisattvas preaching the wonderful Dharma to save suffering sentient beings.

Countless ghosts are among them, sitting upright on the boats, piously looking at the precious appearance, their bodies are also like the color of Jambu-tan gold, sitting in the boats, seeing the image sitting, the mind eyes are opened, and it is clear.

Countless boats transformed from celestial flowers, carrying countless resentful spirits, sailed towards the Buddhist heavens.

That’s right, salvation is not to go to reincarnation, but to ascend directly to the heavens, become the "celestial beings" of Buddhism, and enjoy many blessings, but... after that, the celestial beings will also reincarnate. After the five declines of the celestial beings, it depends on fate.

But it is already a great benefit, this is Shariputra's compensation for them.

As for the price of becoming celestial beings without completing the Dharma, it is naturally borne by the salvation, that is, Shariputra.

The ghosts raised their hands and heads, and took the falling celestial flower boats to the Pure Land. They saw that the Bodhi tree continued to emit light. When the flowers bloomed, the ghosts praised the Four Noble Truths, the Three Wisdoms and the Six Supernatural Powers, and hundreds of millions of resentful spirits obtained the Eight Liberations.

"Respectfully invite the great and compassionate Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva to protect you with mercy." Shariputra pinched the Dharma formula with his hands and said so.

Shariputra was saving the many evil spirits born because of Li Qi's killing for himself.

However, what is killing sin for witches?

The natural world flows according to its own rules, so there is no such thing as killing sin. Life and death are just a part of the natural operation, and it is just a strategy implemented by the "perfect" reality.

So for witches, killing as many people as possible will not produce any feelings. Li Qi did not do it just because he did not like it.

If there are some witches who are "liked"...

Then it can only be said that witches do not have a good reputation...

You know, in many ways, witches are synonymous with weirdness and horror. If witches are all good people... then how can there be such a stereotype?

Li Qi and Shen Shuibi, the couple, are both typical people who are neither good nor evil. Whether it is saving people or killing people, they will not blink an eye. Killing is not stressful for them. Shen Shuibi did not do a lot of things like destroying the world during the war between humans and witches.

Killing and saving people are the same for them. They are purely out of their hearts. It depends on whether they want to do it or not.

But it is not the case for Shariputra.

Through the process of explaining the truth to Li Qi, he began to save the souls of the dead together.

Li Qi also knew that he was doing this for himself.

But he wasn't prepared to pay any attention.

It’s meaningless, why bother? Those innocent souls? He had already been saved, and he had no other choice at the time. Sariputta didn’t expect that he would feel guilty, right?

Li Qi's life is full of regrets. As long as he makes up his mind, he will have no regrets and naturally no guilt.

However, at this time.

Li Qi and Shariputra both suddenly raised their heads, Shariputra stopped chanting sutras, and Li Qi also stood up immediately respectfully.

Because both of them saw, following Shariputra's salvation mantra, a bhikkhu, holding a jewel in his left hand and a tin staff in his right hand, stood on a thousand-leaf green lotus and swayed towards their position.

The opponent should not be the true body, but the projected Dharmakaya, which was summoned by the incantation recited by Shariputra before.

This image is so classic that there is no mistaking it.

Both of them immediately put away their magic formulas and folded their hands. Even Li Qi began to perform Buddhist rituals and shouted respectfully: "Welcome Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva..."

Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva.

When Li Qi saw this famous Bodhisattva, he thought that this time his eyes were really opened, and he actually saw this big boss.

If Shariputra hadn't personally recited the Ksitigarbha Sutra, Li Qi didn't know when he would be able to see him.

Therefore, by calling the Buddha's name, you can eliminate the sins of eight billion kalpas of life and death in your thoughts.

At the end of his life, he saw golden lotus flowers like a sun wheel standing in front of him.

After hearing what the Buddha said, you will immediately see the appearance of the Land of Ultimate Bliss.

With such a sincere heart, the sound will be endless, and with ten thoughts, he will be called the Great Merciful and Great Compassionate Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva.

The person in front of me is the legendary Ksitigarbha, the top existence among the second rank, Maha Bodhisattva, who can even stand side by side with the Buddha, and is only one step away from the status of 'Buddha'.

It’s just that you can’t take this step no matter what, and you can’t become a Buddha no matter what.

Because everyone knows that Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva once made a great wish: "Until hell is empty, I will never become a Buddha."

This great wish achieved his Bodhisattva status, but it prevented him from continuing to become a Buddha. If he did not cross the empty hell, it would be absolutely impossible for him to achieve the final status.

In fact, great wishes have no binding force. What truly binds Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva is his Taoist mind.

Crossing the hell, this is what his Taoist heart wants. In fact, great aspirations will not bring power, nor will they bring constraints. If you deny the great aspirations in your Taoist heart, nothing will happen.

This may be regarded as an obsession...or, in other words, a demonic thought.

Only by seeing through this last obsession, or realizing this ambition, will he complete the final brick of his first-level journey.

Li Qi looked at Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva. He had already heard about the other person's experience and had thought about visiting him several times.

Nothing else. Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva is real. He can achieve the first level anytime and anywhere. He can become a Buddha instantly with just one thought.

But his Taoist heart restrained himself, preventing him from raising this idea.

What kind of wonderful state is this?
