Chapter 516 Children and Grandchildren Have Their Own Blessings

"I can't see the scenery of Song Dynasty, I'm so anxious."

Zhang Fei hurriedly wrote the note and threw it into the light curtain to echo His Majesty Erfeng.

Seeing his third brother eagerly staring at the light screen and spinning around in circles, Liu Bei felt a little dizzy, so he simply said something to persuade him:

"If third brother wants to know about the affairs of the Song Dynasty, you can wait until you are free later and just write a note and ask as you did just now."

Zhang Fei smacked his lips regretfully:

"Brother, you don't know. How can listening to what Zhao Da said compare to seeing it with your own eyes?"

Sitting next to him, Ma Chao, who was also looking forward to it, nodded in agreement.

As he spoke, Zhang Fei felt a little regretful for a moment, then on a whim, he cupped his hands in front of the serious light curtain and said:

"Light curtain, light curtain, descendants, descendants."

"I want to practice the method of traveling through time and the Zhao Dashu boxing. Is it possible to make it easier?"

Zhang Fei's face was full of seriousness, and the light screen remained motionless without any change.

So Zhang Fei could only helplessly rub his beard and continue walking in circles.

Kong Ming suddenly laughed:

"Yide is a smart man, and he is actually tempted to share the worries of Emperor Song."

"This is not sharing worries."

How could Liu Bei not understand his third brother? He said clearly:

"Then how could Zhao Er, who was born in the military, not be able to control Zhao Er? Yide just wants to watch the fun, and maybe he can kick Song Taizong."

Kong Ming was speechless for a moment, Zhang Fei smiled and did not refute, but slipped over and pinched Liu Bei's shoulders and said nicely:

"It seems that A Douzhen and my brother will have peace of mind."

Although these words sounded a bit strange for a moment, Liu Bei nodded and admitted.

Immediately, Zhang Fei hit the snake and put it on the stick, saying:

"In this case, it would be better to summon Feng'er to Chang'an and strengthen the brotherhood with Adou."

For Liu Bei, it would be a lie to say that he is not interested in this proposal. After all, what parent does not want to enjoy the joy of having their children around their knees and enjoy a family relationship?

And now he is just Liu Feng and Adou, but after thinking about the letter Liu Feng wrote to him during the Chinese New Year, he finally refused:

"Feng'er has his own ambitions, I... shouldn't stop him."

After the battle of Jingxiang, Ma Di was reassigned to Chang'an by Liu Bei as an agent in the general's palace. He usually came up with ideas and ran errands and performed duties very diligently. As long as he was not allowed to lead the army, he was considered a good official.

Mi Fang was simple. Mi Zhu personally kept this cheap younger brother by his side, and was very careful not to let the younger brother get involved in military affairs, and strictly ordered him to study arithmetic to learn business.

Liu Feng is a little more complicated. Liu Bei initially called for the remaining troops and refused to obey. A month ago, Mrs. Gan, Mrs. Sun, Mrs. Wu and Lady Wu went to Chang'an with Adou. Liu Bei wanted to reunite, but still refused.

Not only did he not obey, but he also sent back a long and sincere letter, saying that although he was the son of General Zuo, he could not bring peace to the people and could not punish thieves, so he asked himself to join the army and express his merits to his father when he was granted the title of Marquis.

Therefore, despite his intentions, Liu Bei finally shook his head and patted his third brother's arm to show his approval.

Zhang Fei felt a little sad. Although he was trying to persuade his elder brother, he was thinking of his second brother instead.

If you want to restore the Han Dynasty, will it be difficult for brothers to reunite?

Manna Hall.

Since he couldn't watch the brothers fighting, Zhao Da didn't say a word, and the whole hall fell into a drowsy state.

Li Shimin tried his best to curse:

"If you can't describe this or that, you can't describe it with a pen, so what's the use of this history book?"

Although this was already the consensus of Zhenguan officials, Du Ruhui still sighed:

"The mysterious death of the noble family in the early Song Dynasty is too much."

Wei Zheng and Fang Xuanling nodded together, and Fang Xuanling briefly commented:

"Compared to his elder brother, Zhao Er is even more virtuous."

Wei Zheng also sighed. The excitement he had when he first learned about the Song Dynasty's worship of Confucianism had long since disappeared. He even said:

"If virtue is not measured, misfortune will be severe; if virtue is not measured, disaster will be widespread."

"Those with weak virtues have low ambitions and hold high positions. They know small things but plan big things. They have little strength but heavy responsibilities. They are rarely inferior."

After despising Zhao Er, Wei Zheng was a little confused. Judging from what later generations said, he also recited classics, but it can also be seen that Confucianism has long declined.

Could it be that the world of great unity that the Confucian sages longed for was just an elusive dream after all?

The ministers were all talking lazily to each other, discussing softly with each other how the Song general was doing.

Chu Suiliang, who was diligently recording the contents on the side, was secretly alert in his heart. Historians serve as biographers for the country. If they are straight, the country will be upright. If the country is upright, they can set an example for the world and serve as a clear lesson for future generations. They should learn from it.

[It is not difficult to see from the Golden Chamber Alliance that even if Zhao Tingmei died, the aftermath of Zhao Kuangyin's death has not completely dissipated.

And this has to mention the key figure in the second half of Song Taizong's dynasty: Zhao Pu.

According to the fragments left in the history books, Zhao Pu was the main contributor from Zhao Tingmei's exile in Luoyang to her move to Fangzhou.

For example, when Li Fu of Kaifeng Prefecture stated that Zhao Tingmei had no regrets at all, it was Zhao Pu who instigated her behind the scenes.

In addition, the former prime minister Lu Duoxun was very unlucky in the Zhao Tingmei case. Not only was he beaten to the end, but he was also sent to Yazhou. This was Zhao Pu's former political enemy, and he was the one who excluded and persecuted Zhao Pu.

Therefore, no matter how you look at it, it is very obvious that Zhao Er and Zhao Pu got what they needed before and after the Golden Chamber incident:

You help me kill my political enemies, and I help you frame your clan. The cooperation is quite pleasant.

"History of the Song Dynasty" commented on this: "Tingmei was abolished, Duoxun moved to the south, and the power of Pu was achieved".

However, before the phase butt obtained by the Golden Chamber Alliance had warmed up, Zhao Pu was kicked out of Bianliang for the second time. The reason this time was quite simple:

Zhao Yuanzuo didn't like him.

Zhao Yuanzuo was the eldest son of Zhao Er. According to sporadic records in history books, Zhao Yuanzuo was brave and wise since childhood and looked like his father, so he was extremely loved.

After getting married, he was not only brought with him early, but also moved his residence directly to the East Palace. He was trained in accordance with the standards of the crown prince in all aspects, except for an imperial edict to appoint the crown prince.

But unfortunately, although Zhao Yuanzuo looked very similar to Zhao Er, he was far inferior in heart.

As the eldest son of Zhao Er, he had been very good friends with his uncle Zhao Tingmei since he was a child.

And since Zhao Er started to attack Zhao Tingmei, Zhao Yuanzuo repeatedly pleaded for his uncle, which made Zhao Er very unhappy.

However, the father-son relationship was still there at this time. Although Zhao Yuanzuo could not let his father let his uncle go, he could still let the accomplice Zhao Pu get out quickly. This is also the reason why Zhao Pu was sent out again after serving as prime minister for two years.

Three years after being exiled, the Northern Expedition of Yongxi started vigorously. Zhao Pu, who was transferred to Wusheng Army, had been paying attention to the war situation. Seeing that the war was delayed for a while, Zhao Pu wrote a letter to Zhao Er, "Returning to the Army", to persuade Zhao Er to withdraw his troops.

Zhao Er would definitely not listen, and the result was that the Northern Expedition of Yongxi was defeated, and the Song court was in a critical situation both internally and externally.

In this situation, Zhao Er urgently needed a scapegoat... no, he needed a respected old minister to turn the tide.

At this time, Zhao Pu was widely praised in the Song court for his foresight in "Returning to the Army", and the crown prince Zhao Yuanxi also urged Zhao Er to call Zhao Pu back to take the blame.

So Zhao Pu, who was already 64 years old, was appointed as prime minister for the third time and came back to take the bullet for Zhao Guangyi.

Wait, some viewers may be confused at this point. Wasn't the crown prince still Zhao Yuanzuo before, why did it become Zhao Yuanxi here?

This matter is simple. After the news of Zhao Tingmei's death from anxiety reached the capital, Zhao Guangyi felt relieved, and his eldest son Zhao Yuanzuo finally broke a string in his heart: "Tingmei died, and Yuanzuo went crazy."

In addition, the year before Yongxi's Northern Expedition, Zhao Er summoned his sons and heirs to celebrate the Double Ninth Festival. The crazy Zhao Yuanzuo set fire to the palace on the grounds that he was neglected. The fireworks did not go out until the next day. Such things naturally could not be concealed from Zhao Er, so Zhao Yuanzuo was deposed and demoted to a commoner.

In addition, later generations speculated that Zhao Yuanzuo was actually because he was afraid of the throne because he saw his father's various scandals, but this statement lacks concrete evidence and can only be put aside for the time being.

Zhao Yuanzuo was deposed, and Zhao Yuanxi, who took over the throne, did not enjoy a few years.

Seven years after Yongxi's Northern Expedition, five years before Zhao Guangyi's death, Zhao Yuanxi, 27 years old, died suddenly.

Not surprisingly, the death of Zhao Yuanxi was also one of the mysteries in the early Song Dynasty.

The suddenness of Zhao Yuanxi's death was only one of the reasons. Zhao Kuangyi also liked this son very much and wanted to posthumously confer the title of crown prince on him at the funeral.

As a result, before the posthumous ceremony was held, Zhao Yuanxi's favorite concubine Zhang was hanged by Zhao Er for usurpation, the tombs of Zhang's parents were destroyed, and the whole family was exiled.

The ceremony of posthumously conferring the title of crown prince on Zhao Yuanxi was also stopped immediately and changed to a first-class funeral. A long list of officials in Kaifeng Prefecture were also held accountable and dismissed.

The above is the record of Zhao Yuanxi's affairs in the official history, which obviously has many ambiguities and doubts.

In "Continuation of Zizhi Tongjian Changbian", Li Tao briefly added a statement circulated in unofficial history:

"It is also said that Yuanxi got sick because of eating something by mistake, and it was a private matter in the palace."

According to this sentence, Zhao Yuanxi's death seems to have changed from a violent death to a death caused by taking poison by mistake. When thinking of Li Yu, Qian Chu, Zhao Kuangyin and others who also died in unclear circumstances, it is hard not to let the literati at that time imagine.

As for why Zhao Guangyi's attitude towards his son's death was so different before and after, Li Tao also recorded an incident in his work.

Zhao Guangyi was furious about Zhao Yuanxi's death and arrested all the officials in the palace for interrogation. Wei Yu, the left counselor, advised him:

"The prince of Han Li secretly played with his father's soldiers. At that time, those who spoke out thought that he should be flogged for his crime. Now the fault of King Xu is not as serious as that."

The ancients were often very careful when giving examples and giving advice, let alone facing the emperor.

Therefore, Wei Yu's example of Liu Ju is quite intriguing. It is almost certain that Zhao Yuanxi's death at least involved some possibility of treason, but Zhao Yuanxi might have been used as a treasoner, and the one suspected of treason might be the favored Zhang.

There are very few records of this incident in the Song Dynasty, so it is another unresolved case.

Therefore, the final prince became Zhao Er's third son Zhao Yuankan, who later became Song Zhenzong Zhao Heng. 】

"One crazy and one rebellious, yes."

Zhao Kuangyin lay on his chair, with his feet on Zhao Guangyi's previous stool as a footstool, and Zhao Kuangyi sat on the ground with his legs covered and his face up.

The whole scene was very indecent, but no one would touch the bad luck of the government, so they just pretended not to see it.

Zhao Kuangyi retorted with pain:

"He may be pretending to be crazy, or the women in the palace may want to rebel."

From Zhao Kuangyi's point of view, he was not sure whether Zhao Yuanzuo was really crazy or pretending to be crazy, but he could roughly guess about Zhao Yuanxi's affairs.

After all, thinking about the details of the rebellion of the prince, and thinking about the fact that Zhang was hanged for usurping power, Zhao Kuangyi could easily smell the smell of conspiracy.

After all, it is easy to know that judging from the age of Zhao Yuanxi when he died, he must have a legal wife.

With a legal wife, the concubine was overbearing, and through Zhao Yuanxi, she built the tomb of her parents beyond the rules. It is possible that this crazy concubine wanted to repeat Wu Zetian's example, but something went wrong later, which led to Zhao Yuanxi drinking poison.

There are too many possibilities, and Zhao Kuangyi is unwilling to guess.

Zhao Kuangyin laughed:

"If it is pretending to be crazy, then the father and son are alienated."

"If it is to follow the rebellion, then the inspection is blind."

"You are not only a good brother, but also a good father. I know it today."

Zhao Kuangyi was silent and speechless.

It was Zhao Pu who slightly eased Zhao Kuangyi's embarrassment.

In this awkward atmosphere, Zhao Pu took off his hat and held his hat to bow:

"I feel ashamed of the emperor, so I resign."

Seeing the gray hair of this old minister, Zhao Kuangyin restrained the smile on his face and sighed:

"Why is Ze Ping like this?"

"This is a different time, how can I convince the public if I blame you for a crime that has not been committed?"

But seeing his younger brother next to him raise his head with hope, Zhao Kuangyin directly extinguished his hope:

"You are the King of Jin, it should be different."

What's the difference! If Zhao Guangyi hadn't been unable to stand up, he would have wanted to roar at his brother, but these can only exist in imagination.

The words that finally came out of his mouth were full of a plea for mercy:

"If the emperor does not want to kill me here, I dare to ask the imperial physician to relieve the pain."

Zhao Kuangyin became extremely impatient and scolded:

"It will be a little painful, just bear it."

"If you don't want to bear the pain, I will lend you a piece of hemp rope, and you can use this low stool to pick a place that suits you. No one will stop you."

Zhao Guangyi's face turned red, but in the end he still didn't dare to be tough and ask for the hemp rope.

After scolding his brother, Zhao Kuangyin turned to Zhao Pu and said with a friendly face again:

"If Zeping believes me, please take back your words."

"If you want to take Yanyun, how can you do without your help?"

Then Zhao Kuangyin stood up, re-combed the old minister's hair, and then put the crown back on.

Zhao Pu didn't say anything, but bowed again, and then stood behind Zhao Kuangyin silently, blocking the palace door completely.

Seeing his brother with a red face but eyes downcast, Zhao Kuangyin sighed in his heart.

Then he thought of all the things that happened before, hesitated for a while but finally pointed to a eunuch:

"You are good at fine brushwork, paint this scene in the palace according to the truth."

The little eunuch trembled with his hands and cried and accepted the order, and then, in the eyes of the other eunuchs with different expressions, he buried his head in painting with a posture of wind whistling and Yishui cold.

Zhao Pu guessed the purpose of this painting, but in his head he was already thinking about how to make this light curtain help to recover Yanyun.

I wonder what Zhuge Wuhou and Emperor Taizong of Tang had learned from the light curtain long ago?
