Chapter 1356: Immortal Life Expectancy, the Future Is Promising

The spiritual rain descended, and the crowd cheered. Before the rain dispersed, Wu Yi and a group of immortals came to the important place of the ancestral temple.

That spiritual rain might be able to bribe the lower or middle-level disciples, but it was basically impossible to bribe these people, because Wu Yi took away the opportunity that originally belonged to one of them, which was much more than the revenge of killing his father and mother.

Therefore, Wu Yi did not expect to reconcile with them. He could only trade. As time went by, as long as he kept Xuanchen Domain stable and maintained his own strength, no one could shake his position. He could only accept the reality.

In fact, after Wu Yi fully adapted to that realm, no matter how dissatisfied they were, they could not make waves.

The head of the Yiqi Sect in the upper realm was an old man with a gaunt face and a slender figure. Judging from the traces of time, he should have lived for no less than five calamities. He was called Lin Mingzi, which means he had lived for 600,000 years.

The life span of immortals has always been a puzzling question. Generally speaking, among the immortals, if the Taichu immortals have not achieved the Golden Immortal realm, their life span will not exceed one kalpa, and they must be reincarnated. Whether they can see through the mystery in the womb is a question.

If you are a Taichu Golden Immortal, you basically have a life span of one kalpa, but it is difficult to exceed two kalpas, unless you get a rare treasure, or there is a Taiyi Immortal who is willing to be infected with the cause and effect kalpa to extend your life.

But the possibility of both is basically zero. Even if there is such a rare treasure, it is not the turn of a Taichu Immortal to use it, and no Taiyi Immortal is willing to spend it to extend your life. Are you the son of a saint? Ridiculous.

Taiyi Immortal himself also has a limit, which is generally ten kalpas, but even Taiyi Golden Immortal can hardly live to ten kalpas. The accumulation of kalpas in each kalpa is a huge burden that needs to be eliminated in the long river of time and space. Try to maintain the origin from being eroded by the three disasters and five kalpas, and at the very least, keep room for reincarnation.

As for the Daluo Immortal, although Wu Yi has already stepped into it, he doesn't know much.

All the above mentioned are the situations of the Immortal Path, or more precisely, the situation of the Taoist Sect. Among the Buddhist sects, the Hinayana Buddhism is similar to the Taoist Sect, which guides the self and rarely participates in reincarnation. The Buddhist disciples of the Mahayana Buddhism do not cultivate the physical body, but concentrate on cultivating the inner heart, so they only have a life span of several dozen years in one life, but because of their strong inner heart, they can basically maintain their true spirit after death, and inherit the memory of the previous life after reincarnation.

Because the Mahayana Buddhism does not attach importance to the physical body, it is naturally extremely indifferent to blood ties and relatives, and it is not an exaggeration to say that they don't care at all.

The disciples of the Mahayana Buddhism eliminate their own calamities through reincarnation again and again. Even if they are in the Arhat fruit position, which is equivalent to the realm of the Taichu Immortal, if the years of reincarnation are superimposed, they generally have a life span several times that of the Taoist Sect (there is no realm in the Mahayana Buddhism. Arhats, Bodhisattvas and Buddhas are talking about the cultivation of the inner heart. It is quoted here for the convenience of understanding).

Reincarnation after reincarnation can certainly eliminate most of the disasters. When a person dies, it is like a lamp going out. Those who do not know about reincarnation will basically not bother about it anymore.

However, there is no need to envy it. Reincarnation also has problems. Even if the Buddha reincarnates in the safest and most stable heavenly way among the six reincarnations, accidents will still happen. What if the reincarnation goes wrong?

A lifetime of humiliation is likely to destroy your cultivation for hundreds of lifetimes.

Adding this factor to it, in fact, there is not much difference between Buddhism and Taoism. If the cultivation is the same, the life expectancy of Buddhist disciples must be several times longer, and Buddhism would have unified the heavens long ago.

The situation of the demon clan is basically the same as that of the Taoist clan, so I will not mention it anymore. The next thing worth mentioning is Shinto. If the incense of Shinto gods is not exhausted, then the divine power is endless, that is, immortal. As long as the race that believes in themselves is not extinct, they are basically immortal.

The gods of Nandou and Beidou are all like this. The belief in Shintoism is spread throughout the heavens and the worlds. Even if one realm is hit, it can be restored in other realms. It is much freer than many immortal monks.

But is it really so? First of all, there are still a few gods of the status of Nandou and Beidou. Secondly, as incense gods, their power depends on the believers, not themselves. If there are not many believers, a mountain bandit can destroy your temple, and there is no prestige at all.

Finally, there are fierce disputes and frequent changes among the gods of incense gods. There are often dozens of gods in one priesthood. In theory, they are indeed immortal, but many gods, even the gods recognized by the dynasty, can't live for ten thousand years, let alone a catastrophe.

Therefore, Taoist monks are not ashamed to be gods, and the gods under the rule of the immortals are just a group of submissive servants.

Among the gods, there are also natural gods. As part of the order of heaven and earth, they are unknown to people. Unless the heaven and earth change drastically and their origins change, their status will basically remain unchanged, but their number is extremely rare and can be basically ignored.

In the human world, even if you are the emperor, you cannot prolong your life. However, if your civil and military achievements are better than those of the emperors, and your reputation is great, then your name will be passed down to future generations and become a totem symbol, which can continue to exert your influence. In a sense, it is also alive.

In the human world, in addition to the emperor, there are also various schools of thought who write books and biographies. Their doctrines ignore the barriers of time and space. As long as they are abandoned by extraordinary forces, they can thrive and grow into human beings and establish states.

The lifespan of various philosophers is not long, just like that of ordinary people, but those who create a lineage among them can have an influence comparable to that of saints.

The emergence and development of humanity is indeed the biggest change since the Middle Ages and the recent ancient times, but it was concealed by the internal strife of Taoism and the dispute between Buddhism and Taoism. When humanity grew up, it was suddenly realized that they had become a force to be reckoned with.

If nothing unexpected happens, the next catastrophe of the heavens will be a struggle between extraordinary power and ordinary power, which conforms to the trend of the spiritual power of heaven and earth gradually returning to the ordinary, and is also the inevitable result of the development of humanity.

However, these are too far away, so they are just guesses.

It is hard to imagine that Wu Yi only saw the gaunt face of the head of the Yiqi Sect, and so many things emerged in his mind.

In fact, from the side, it can also be reflected that Wu Yi began to think about life and death. He has not thought about these things all along, either because he was busy with other things, or because he was confident that he was younger than many people and did not care.

However, the death that Wu Yi is thinking about now is completely different from what ordinary people call death. It is not only the extinction of the origin, but also the stagnation of the long river of time and space, and even more so the nothingness of the long river of fate, rather than the simple extinction of the body.

Destroying the world, chasing the stars and the moon, these words that used to be incredible in my mind are now completely different from the previous understanding.

Perhaps, this is growth!
