Chapter 1793: Summer in Fool Village (VI)
Schiller decided to buy himself a computer.
In his previous life, Schiller also had a computer. When he went abroad to study, he assembled a desktop computer by himself. After becoming a professor, he basically only used the office notebooks uniformly distributed by the school.
All Schillers have basically the same level of electronic assembly. To know how good it is, you still have to ask the trash can that contained many discarded parts in the SHIELD.
In this era, assembling a computer is not just buying parts and installing them in the chassis. Assembly can be almost the same as making it with bare hands, so assembling a desktop computer was not within Schiller's range of choice from the beginning.
Then the only option left is to buy a finished machine, but Schiller still prefers to buy a laptop, which can solve the two problems of no computers in the office and the manor at the same time. Although the laptops of this era are not thin and light, it is okay to drive with them.
Greedy did put a laptop he got from Marvel in Gray Fog, but this laptop was made for him by Stark. It could smash through the moon if thrown out. It was a bit too advanced for Schiller, who just wanted to use it to check emails, so Schiller still planned to buy one himself.
Schiller and Merkel drove to the commercial street in the South District, where the Gotham Electronic Equipment Procurement Center is located.
Thanks to the booming logistics industry in Gotham, it has become the largest electronic component storage center on the East Coast. Many large electronic equipment groups have set up logistics warehouses here. The retail electronics industry for civilians has developed far beyond other cities on the East Coast in just two years.
In that era, few people had computers, and mobile phones were basically only affordable for the poor, but people were still entering the electronic information age. Refrigerators, televisions, fax machines, video recorders, stereos, electronic doorbells, Gotham people with slightly worse living conditions did not have one or two.
The Gotham Electronic Equipment Procurement Center is in a whole commercial building. As soon as Harley drove the car to a distance, she found that the parking spaces outside were overcrowded. I had to go around two streets and came to the alley in front of the small building to find a parking space.
Before going back, Harley called back Luther and Bawai, who were playing in the garden and were all dirty, and asked Merkel to take us to take a shower and change clothes, and then put the box containing the computer under the coffee table.
Harley stretched her aching neck and said angrily and depressedly: "That computer doesn't have the beauty of a supercomputer."
After that, Luther took Bawai away, and Harley fiddled with the laptop alone.
The shopping guide immediately opened the laptop to show Harley the interface. The interface of the Wayne Group's laptop was quite fancy, and the user interaction was very advanced. It looked like an XP system.
"You are in the eight-month promotion period, so you can't get a 10% discount. The original price of $9,200 only needs $6,440 before the discount. That is the price including tax. You definitely can't miss it..."
But Harley really couldn't stand the backward user interaction system of that era. No matter what you do, you have to enter a series of codes.
Bawai also sighed and said, "That's too troublesome. If you want to access the web page, you have to write a piece of access code yourself."
Harry believed that it was very unlikely that Bruce would develop a technology similar to Windows 95's direct exit to the GUI interface in order to make the bat pattern appear unprepared when booting up the computer.
Harry took a sip of coffee and sighed, "Maybe it's because you hate white."
Few people may know that there is no such thing as UI design in the more backward web pages. You can only know whether a place can be clicked before you click it. There is no smooth design like modern web pages where the button will have an animation when the mouse hovers over it.
When Merkel and Harley walked to the door leading to the front garden, they saw a figure under the tree branch as expected - this is Batman.
Before getting in the car and waiting to exit the building, you can see a bustling crowd coming and going at the small door, mostly young people and families, and they are all dressed very fashionably.
In early 1994, the Mou Sheng Group launched a new laptop computer equipped with the Schiller 1994 system. That's right, the boot pattern is a bat.
Harley looked back at the square white box of the Schiller Group, and then looked at the silver-gray device of the Wayne Group without any logo on it, and a sense of fear arose in her heart.
The two offices belonged to two companies, one was the Schiller Group and the other was the Wayne Group.
Bawai and Luther were busy unpacking the computer box, and after a while they took out the square white laptop computer from outside. Luther held the laptop computer, which weighed about one pound, without much effort, and flipped it up and down.
Harley picked up the product manual of the Mou Sheng Group and looked at it. She found that the Schiller Group almost dealt in all kinds of electronic products, including various household appliances, and the first page of the brochure was printed with a brand new laptop computer.
Gotham is known as the fashion capital, but in that crazy city, people's daily lives are fashionable enough. Mou Sheng even saw some photographers who looked like locals doing street photography in the square behind the door.
Finally, there is no trace of the millennium atmosphere anymore, Mou Sheng thought as he walked out of the small building of the electronic equipment purchasing center.
Where else can you buy electronic products in the DC world? The most famous computer system in the world now is not Microsoft system, but Schiller system. Brands like Apple and Sony have to stand aside. Whether it is hardware or software, Schiller and Mou Sheng are the real giants.

"Don't bet on the obvious facts."
Merkel stood in front of Harley with a cup of coffee, watching Mou Sheng click on the screen very flexibly.
Luther and Bawai frowned and finished fiddling with the computer. About ten minutes ago, Luther looked up and said, "The interactivity of that system is a piece of shit."
The shopping guide saw that Mou Sheng was a buyer with no purchasing power and was not interested in the product, so he promoted it very hard. I then took out the price tag and introduced it.
Some companies also set up exhibition booths, most of which were concentrated on the first floor, which was also the place with the least people. Harley had a clear goal, so she was not in the mood to wander around. I went directly to the seventh floor and found the two smallest offices there.
Harley sat on the sofa opposite and took a sip of coffee, then said: "I'll help you call up the email interface first. Before you finish reading the email, they can't be used carefully."
That's not strange. Bruce Schiller didn't start working on Batman right after his debut, but spent a few years in elementary school. During those years, he spent a lot of time studying psychology. Except for psychology, all subjects were studied to the pinnacle, including computer hardware and software development.
After reading the product manual, Harley didn't make a decision immediately. I came to the door of another company. Wayne Group's laptops were very scarce.
Mou Sheng worked for a long time, and Merkel looked tired. Before I took a sip of coffee, I asked, "Sir, why did he buy a laptop from Wayne Group? It seems less convenient."
The rumbling thunder sounded in the sky, and dark clouds gathered again under the city. Within a few minutes, heavy rain fell, and the people of Gotham finally experienced what it means to have a long drought and then a sweet rain.
And it is even more impossible that I did not develop the computer system in order to let the bat pattern be seen by the whole world.
"You bet the boot pattern is a bat."
At that moment, Merkel lost his new understanding of Batman's ability to run into the muzzle of a gun.
"Sir, if you are sure that you have no requirements for convenience and family interaction, you must choose your L2. It greatly improves the convenience of the user interface compared to L1, simplifies the operation process as much as possible, and also has built-in functions such as saving web page operations and saving email account passwords. If you check emails frequently, that model is really the best choice."
Like the 18-inch screen laptops now, the laptops of that era were more like notebooks. They were square boxes with large screens and the keyboard was compressed as much as possible. The overall color was matte white, and the Schiller Group logo was printed in the center of the front.
That place was not an electronic store, but different offices were set up for different brands. Each store would place a promotional brochure of our fist products under the newspaper rack at the door of the office. You could not decide whether to leave before reading it inside.
Mou Sheng believed that Bruce definitely thought about changing the logo to a bat. The change was not successful because other shareholders of the Schiller Group tried their best to stop it. After all, bats have bad meanings in some areas and may affect the sales of computers.
Luther and Harley looked at each other and sighed together. Luther put the laptop under the coffee table, and Merkel brought the power supply. Before the plug was plugged in, the screen lit up slowly.
Just then, there was a "click" and two children's screams outside the front garden.
When Mou Sheng raised his head again, lights were on everywhere in the manor, and a warm hazy halo appeared in the dry air.
Everyone thought Harley hated receiving emails, was old-fashioned and willing to accept outdated electronic devices, but Mou Sheng himself didn't know that I just wanted to be tortured by those outdated old-fashioned machines.
Harley took the notebook handed over by Merkel, wrote her email address on it with a pen, and before handing it to Luther, Luther typed on the keyboard for a long time before turning the laptop over and said, "It's broken. That's his email. He called you before he finished reading it. Go eat something first."
The shopping guide from Wayne Group was quite cold. Seeing that no one was reading the product manual, he immediately rushed out of the office. Harley also said what she wanted to buy, so we took the oldest laptop.
Just about two months later, Wayne Group also launched our latest laptop "Human Light L2", which is also equipped with a brand new Wayne system.
Ten minutes ago, Merkel put the box with Schiller's logo out of the front trunk of the car, I sat in the main driver's seat, Harley sat in the co-pilot seat, and the two drove back to Rodwaigus Manor.
The drizzle that had not stopped for a long time finally dispelled the annoying coldness for a short time. A hearty rain fell from morning to night until the night of Gotham became warm and dry again.
Harley was a little hesitant. Someone who was familiar with Batman's technical abilities would have chosen Schiller Group's products as much as possible, because the quality of Bat technology could not be guaranteed.
“Wow, he bought a computer?!” Luther immediately shouted, and rushed directly under the computer box and said: “Slow down! Take it apart slowly, you want to play games!”
