Chapter 50 Yarrick's Banquet
Hermann von Ozick walked out of his luxurious aircraft and looked at the high-end restaurant with displeasure and contempt. The two teams of guards behind him also walked down from the aircraft and set up two blockades at the entrance of the restaurant.
"This political commissar is really poor. Is the most decent place he can think of only a high-end restaurant? What a country bumpkin." Von Ozick made a very reluctant expression of alms and entered the door of the restaurant under the protection of the guards.
Yarick and two big-bellied entrepreneurs in black suits and top hats were standing at the door waiting for von Ozick's arrival. Yarick still had a cold face with a fake smile, but the two entrepreneurs beside him smiled as brightly as a blooming flower.
"Ah, Your Excellency von Ozick, thank you for accepting my invitation. I am sorry that you have been wronged by coming to this high-end restaurant."
Hearing Yarick's flattering words, von Ozick looked at him with eyes as if he had seen a ghost. He had heard from his uncle about Yarick's crazy behavior of shooting at him at the banquet.
Yarrick looked at the doubtful von Ozick with a stiff smile, "Sir, don't be angry and doubtful because of my rudeness last time. After hearing about the glorious victory of the Titan Corps, I was deeply impressed by the charm of the Governor. How can a fool like me see through one ten-thousandth of his wisdom? This banquet is a sincere apology. I hope you can believe me."
Von Ozick listened to Yarick's plea and felt very happy. He also knew about the glorious victory of the Titan Legion that Commissar Yarrick had mentioned. Six million ferocious orcs fled everywhere under the feet of the God Machine. This glorious victory spread throughout all the nests of Armageddon. As for the abnormal violent vibration, it was the best evidence that the orc Gu Juji was destroyed. Now the God Machine Legion is chasing the orcs like a ruthless hunter in the fleeing ocean. It is believed that all the green beasts on Armageddon will be successfully driven out soon. A glorious and great victory will bring supreme glory to the Herman family.
He nodded slightly with a look of teachableness, and looked at Yarrick with eyes full of the color of you can still be saved. The arrogant von Ozk paced towards the hall with the smiles of two flattering entrepreneurs.
Yarrick, who was standing at the back of them, had his face blocked by the front of the big military cap, and his expression could not be seen clearly, but his tightly clenched hands exposed his angry heart.
They rushed to open the door for Von Ozick, and a rather spacious and exquisite private room was filled with small nobles waiting for Von Ozick. Von Ozick gently waved the white towel in his hand to signal them, and those cunning nobles who followed the wind came up one by one to flatter Von Ozick and his family.
Von Ozick sat in his main seat amid the praises of the nobles, and looked at Commissar Yarrick who had just walked in with a proud look, "Let's toast to the governor's foresight and the caution of our loyal commissar!"
"Cheers!"
The clinking of the nobles seemed to be praise, but in fact it was humiliation. Von Ozick wanted to use this ultimate humiliation to see Commissar Yarrick's interesting reaction. But to Von Ozick's disappointment, the imagined rage and slamming of the door did not happen. Commissar Yarrick just sat down at the end of a table near the door and nodded in approval.
Von Ozk, who was not able to see Yarrick's embarrassment, was somewhat disappointed. He sat on the chair and used the fork in his hand to pick at the fat steak in front of him, which was sizzling and oozing with oil. The nobles and entrepreneurs saw that Von Ozk was not happy, and they held their breath one by one, fearing that they would anger the great noble who managed the Hades Hive.
Commissar Yarrick slowly stood up, making a harsh sound of his stool rubbing against the ground. The nobles in the audience turned their eyes to him, wanting to see what the commissar wanted to do.
Clearing his throat, Yarrick used his hoarse and calm voice to expose a huge lie, "The victory of the Titan Legion is real, but the defeat of the orcs is false. The Titan Legion has been annihilated." Then he supported the table with both hands and watched the performance of the other guests.
After a long silence, von Ozk's laughter came, "Commissar, commissar, you are really crazy. The Titan Legion won and wiped out the orcs. How could it be annihilated?"
A noble echoed: "I think our poor loyal commissar is hallucinating. He should go to the hospital for a good look."
"Hahahahaha!"
The laughter stimulated Yarrick's nerves and made him clench his fists even tighter. "The destruction of the Titan Legion has been confirmed by the priests of the Mechanicus. Do you think the people of the Mechanicus will deceive you?"
"Mechanicus, how is it possible."
"The Titan Legion is destroyed." A cold voice that was not like a human voice came from behind von Ozk. He slowly turned his head and saw a mechanical priest who was much taller than him staring at him emotionlessly with his glowing mechanical compound eyes.
"Yeah!" The frightened von Ozk screamed, and then suddenly remembered the crazy words of Political Commissar Yarick, "Is what he said true?" The cautious inquiry only received a silent response. von Ozk could even see the existence of hatred and anger in those emotionless compound eyes, which made him feel cold all over.
Many nobles who were observing von Ozk's condition were so shocked by the terrible information behind it that they could not say anything. The two entrepreneurs who were lucky enough to attend the noble banquet began to tremble. They did not dare to think about the destruction of the Titan Legion, let alone what kind of orc army could defeat this god walking on the land.
Seeing the panic and ugly appearance of the crowd, Yarrick slammed his bolt pistol on the table, and the huge noise once again attracted everyone's attention. "I am very sad about the sacrifice of the Titan Legion, but we still have to surround Hades Hive and make a reasonable battle plan."
"Yes, yes! Protect Hades Hive!"
"There must be a plan to stop those barbarians!"
The nobles began to discuss the issue of surrounding the hive, and Yarrick felt amused when he heard their naive views.
"We need to build a defense line outside the hive! Keep them out! I don't want those barbarians to dirty my palace!"
"Yes, yes, yes! Let those planetary defense forces build positions outside the hive! We pay them to do this kind of work!"
"We must fight the orcs in the hive. The fall of the Heglas hive has proved that fighting in the wild is tantamount to suicide. Putting a large number of troops in the wild to fight the orcs is the stupidest decision." Yarrick's hoarse and deep voice seemed so out of place among the sharp and harsh voices of the nobles.
