Chapter 78 3.1 There Are Fish in the North Sea
"There is a fish in the North Sea, its name is Kun."
This is the first sentence that appears in this book.
This sentence comes from "Zhuangzi·Xiaoyaoyou", whose author Zhuangzi is a representative figure of the "Taoist School" among the pre-Qin philosophers.
The "Haoliang Debate" he proposed ("You are not a fish, how can you understand the joy of fish", "You are not me, how can you know that I don't know the joy of fish"), "Zhuang Zhou Mengdie" is still a hot topic in the field of philosophy even after two thousand years.
Loki never thought that an ancient person who had learned about Chinese textbooks would appear in this book. This immediately aroused his great interest. As the holy light shone, he continued to read while copying the words reflected by the light with a brush.
"During the Warring States Period, the Taoist school was at its peak. As the ancestor of Taoism, Zhuangzi flew on a sword in his early years and traveled all over the land of Kyushu."
The Taoist scriptures have quite familiar records about the giant beast "Kunpeng". This aroused the interest of Qin Shihuang. When he unified the world, he sent Qigong masters from all over the world to "kill gods and make elixirs", vowing to kill all the old evil gods lurking in the dark land of Jiuzhou and bewitching the people.
And the two beasts Kunpeng are at the top!
"Qigong masters traveled around the countries while using the techniques of various schools of thought of "Hundred Schools of Thought" to find the old gods. The most difficult to find among these old gods are the "Kun" and "Peng" mentioned by Zhuangzi!"
"So much so that until the death of the First Emperor, he still expressed his regret for not finding Kunpeng in his will."
Xiao Lu believed that this was an important reason why the First Emperor did not finally gain immortality.
Below this text is a picture composed of light. This is not the "parallel perspective" picture of the Tang Dynasty print drawn by Mo Yiquan. It is a bird's-eye view 3D figure tilted at a 45-degree angle. The perspective ratio of the whole picture is extremely accurate, depicting a creature as huge as a mountain range.
This animal has a fish-like head and appearance, but it also has six short claws like a turtle. And its back is made up of dark mountains. The most exaggerated thing is that there is a city with regular buildings and streets in the mountains!
"Leviathan" Seeing this image appear, Jerome beside Loki whispered softly.
"Job, Chapter 41"
"Its belly is as hard as tiles, leaving a deep abyss wherever it passes, his eyes are as hot as the sun, and there is thick smoke coming out of his nostrils. It is not afraid of anyone who is brave. It despises all those who are tall"
"It is a mountain walking on the land of the Holy Lord, and it is Leviathan that crushes everything!"
As a book copyist of the Holy Lord Church, Jerome can talk about all kinds of books in the church. Loki looked at him hesitantly, and Jerome pointed at the light picture and said, "I have seen this picture before."
"This picture comes from the ancient Hebrew book "Job" a thousand years ago. This way of painting with light and perspective was passed down from the Greek scholar Socrates. Only his apprentices knew how to use this method to draw three-dimensional patterns with accurate proportions on a plane."
"And until recently, the Book of Isaiah about seven hundred years ago also recorded Leviathan."
After thinking for a while, Jerome sang in a low voice: "On that day, Jehovah will punish Leviathan with his awakening fire, expel it from the land belonging to humans into the vast ocean, and then to the end of the frozen coast of the world."
"This is a passage in the Bible story. It probably means that when the Holy Lord Jehovah was alive seven hundred years ago, Leviathan tried to climb from the sea to the land, but was driven to the end of the world by the Holy Lord wielding a flaming giant sword."
Loki's face was solemn. Not only the Holy Bishop, but also the ancient legends of the Vikings mentioned similar creatures. They called this marine creature, which is as big as a piece of land, "Whale Island".
When it swims, it is a whale, and when it stops, it is an island.
This thing appeared several times thousands of years ago during the War of the Gods. Even the God King Odin had no good way to deal with this creature as huge as a mountain.
The gods in Valhalla, like the Holy Lord Jehovah, could only exile it, but could not completely destroy it.
In the following pages, a more detailed story was told.
In order to capture Kunpeng, the Qigong masters of the pre-Qin Dynasty invested a lot of manpower and material resources. However, the huge size of this creature is only one aspect, and its movement speed is also very fast. The method of "locating cities by stars" used by the Mohists and Taoists is very effective when looking for cities or ancient tombs that cannot be moved.
However, the search for this "Kun" that can travel 30,000 miles a day is more than enough.
The capture of Kun and Peng in the Qin Dynasty was not completed until the death of Qin Shihuang. The Qigong masters wandering around the world went to heaven and earth, but there were only a few very limited sightings. After seeing its huge size, some people rushed forward with swords, but were slaughtered by the "foreign gods" in the city behind the beast.
Some barely managed to sneak into the city. But the images and text records left behind are very rare. The Tang Dynasty "Xiao Lu" who was responsible for compiling this book spent half his life reading through ancient scrolls and only found two animal skin pictures left by pre-Qin Qigong practitioners.
The first picture depicts a majestic city.
The city adopts a reflective layout like the Arc de Triomphe in Paris. The buildings and streets in the city are all dark basalt-like colors, almost integrated with the mountains behind.
And in the center of the street, there stands a huge black pyramid. The pyramid is similar to the stepped shape of the Mayan and Aztec civilizations, and there is a black figure standing on each level.
There is a huge eye painted on the head of each figure.
There are three words written below this picture: Praise the country.
Another picture, the style is completely different from this one. This picture has only one color. Red.
This is the sleeve of a piece of clothing. After being torn off the Taoist robe as a whole, it was painted with red ink similar to blood.
The monochrome image is rough and primitive. This picture depicts a cave. Several explorers holding torches walked in front, and their firelight illuminated all kinds of strange animal bones in the cave. The proportions of these bones are obviously larger than those of ordinary creatures, and Loki widened his eyes and looked closely at one of the animal bones.
He actually recognized this thing!
Loki clearly remembered that when he was submerged in the water, he once saw a huge sea snake staring at him with huge pupils outside the bubble film. At that time, a long line of glowing jellyfish passed by the edge of the outer wall, and he saw the head of the sea snake.
Both the scale and shape are exactly the same as the skull in the picture.
Both pictures describe the city sitting on the back of "Kun", but the painting style is completely different.
Below the second picture is written "The Left Guard of the Demon Sealing Law, the last work of Feng Huzi"
These words once again gave him a very familiar feeling. The Left Guard of the Demon Sealing Law He took out the original copy of "The Submerged City Volume" compiled by Mo Yiquan from the Submerged City, and carefully checked it, and indeed found this name.
The Right Guard of the Demon Sealing Law is the elder "Xuan Hezi" who died under the sword of Gu Changqing.
The Left Guard of the Demon Sealing Law who entered the Submerged City with them was Feng Huzi!
That day, after leaving Gu Changqing, Xuan Hezi and the alchemist Shen Gonghe, he led the four people to break through the sea water and fly out of the city with a sword!
Combined with the three people in this picture, Loki subconsciously felt that these were most likely the three pre-Qin Qi-refining masters who escaped from the City of Water! They went out to find other gods and refine elixirs for Qin Shihuang more efficiently.
If these figures were them
Doesn't that mean that the country on Kun's back should not be far from the Scandinavian Peninsula?
