Chapter 386 Taiping Dao

【In fact, just like the impact of the Black Death on Europe, the epidemic at the end of the Han Dynasty was the same.

The heroes died suddenly, the ambitions were unfulfilled, and the grudges were not settled. In fact, they were just the aftermath of the epidemic.

The Holocene warm period ended three thousand years ago, followed by the first cold period in nearly five thousand years, which was hit head-on by the Western Zhou Dynasty.

This cold period ended in the Spring and Autumn Period, and then the Chinese land ushered in a warm period of nearly four hundred years.

During this warm period, ancient China completed the unification of the pre-Qin Dynasty and the prosperity of the Han Dynasty.

With the end of this warm period, the harsh natural climate directly raised the cost of living and reduced food production. The cold climate and the people who died due to force majeure became the best breeding ground for epidemics.

The ancient feudal dynasties were limited by productivity and were particularly weak in resistance to natural disasters. Just a simple cold climate was enough to bring a dynasty to an end.

However, the gradual epidemic did not make the ancients pay attention to medical and health care.

When the people were facing the panic of disease and death, the first to break out was the Taiping Dao.

The great sage's voice that shook the heavens, "The blue sky is dead and the yellow sky should be established", was just the result. The beginning of all this came from the Taiping Jing.

When we talk about Taoism now, there is a saying that "Taoism and Taoism are two different things".

So how did Taoism become religious? The answer is the Taiping Jing.

During the reign of Emperor Cheng of Han, a man named Gan Zhongke shouted that the Han Dynasty's luck had run out, and if he wanted to continue the Han Dynasty, he should be re-appointed by heaven.

Faced with such a rebellious person, Emperor Cheng of Han did not force him much, and directly imprisoned him, and eventually let this person die of illness in prison.

However, Gan Zhongke's "Bao Yuan Taiping Jing" has been passed down. For the first time in the scripture, the heavenly system was constructed, and the gods were given functions. He was the pioneer of the model of "immortals descending to the earth to personally teach the Taoist book", and there were countless people who followed his example later.

This model is not unfamiliar to modern people. It is about hyping up concepts and then attracting people to invest in the company through backdoor listing. However, it was difficult to implement in the feudal era.

However, during the reign of Emperor Cheng of Han, the Western Han Dynasty was already in its last years. The people could not be said to be in dire straits, but they could only live in despair.

The Han court was already overwhelmed and had no time to manage the religious trend that was rising among the people.

When it came to the reign of Emperor Shun of the Eastern Han Dynasty, Gong Chong, a native of Langya, went to the imperial court and presented the divine book "Taiping Jing" obtained by his teacher Yu Ji. Only then did the Taiping Dao completely turn over.

Over a hundred years, the "Taiping Jing" and the version written by Gan Zhongke have long been very different. After generations of supplements and improvements, for the people in the late Eastern Han Dynasty, the "Taiping Jing" was no different from a divine book.

In addition to the heaven and gods invented by Gan Zhongke, later generations integrated the ideas of all things having gods, retribution for good and evil, and following the five elements of heaven and earth into one, and proposed the grand concept of the Taiping world, which also includes many contents such as longevity, becoming an immortal, praying for blessings, and talisman water.

Such content can be said to be in line with the times, and soon gained a considerable popular base among the people of the Han Dynasty. At the end of the Han Dynasty, the best person who studied the Taiping Scripture was called Zhang Jue.

Zhang Jue also formally established the Taiping Sect on the basis of his predecessors, and set up leaders in 36 directions. At this point, the Taiping believers also changed from scattered soldiers to a religious organization sweeping the country.

As the weather turned colder at the end of the Han Dynasty, the ruling class further made trouble, and the extremely imperfect medical care in the feudal era was defeated by the epidemic. In the end, Zhang Jue, who studied this scripture best, directly raised the banner of asking the Han Dynasty to die.

The Yellow Turban Rebellion failed after nine months, but this uprising also officially kicked off the prelude to the fall of the Eastern Han Dynasty.

But what Zhang Jue could never have imagined was that the struggle between religion and epidemics had only just begun when he started. 】

In the Ganlu Palace, the first thought that popped into Li Shimin's mind was:

Is it considered that the immortals are giving books when they watch the light curtain of the future like this?

Looking up, the first thing Li Shimin saw was the roof of the Ganlu Palace.

But his eyes seemed to pass through the roof and directly into the sky.

Today, in the Tang Dynasty, there are the gods of the heavenly court above and the ghost messengers of the underworld below. This seems to have been a conventional recognition.

But now Li Shimin knows that there is no heaven in the sky, there are only endless ruins, inexplicably large stars, and the "heavenly palace" created by the descendants of the Chinese people in later generations.

Well, and there seem to be enemies among the stars who are spying on this world.

But at this time, Li Shimin was still a little confused when he looked at the changes in the Taiping Jing. Didn't the Eastern Han Dynasty investigate the source when receiving the book?

After all, in the Western Han Dynasty, Gan Zhongke was a person who deceived the emperor and deceived the people, and was a person who was rationally executed.

As a result, a hundred years later, the descendants became guests of the royal family. If Gan Zhongke knew about this, I wonder what he would think.

But it was also because of this that an idea in Li Shimin's mind gradually became clear, but he couldn't say it for a while. Instead, he began to be dazed and kept thinking about the cognition of religion in his heart.

The people in Chang'an at the end of the Han Dynasty had mixed feelings.

At this moment, they really wanted to pull the younger generation over through the light curtain to talk face to face.

Today's chaotic world is mixed with military disasters, natural disasters, and so on. Liu Bei and Zhang Fei, in particular, became famous by blocking the Yellow Turban Army.

At this time, listening to the later generations telling the past of the Taiping Dao clearly and clearly, and analyzing this chaotic world from the unique cognitive perspective of the later generations, everyone felt more enlightened for a while.

"Zhang Jiao is dead. He will not receive either praise or guilt."

Kong Ming whispered, but immediately said with great interest:

"But it is precisely because of this Taiping Road that we can know what people's livelihood is."

After the Yellow Turban Uprising, the so-called remnants of the Yellow Turbans have always been the object of strict defense by the prefects everywhere.

In some harsh places, there is even a method of sitting together to avoid the Yellow Turban.

But when Kong Ming and Pang Tong talked about the people's livelihood in Yizhou and Jingzhou very early, Pang Tong lamented that under Xuande Gong's command, the yellow turbans were all over the place.

Kong Ming just sighed softly when he heard this:

"In Jingyi and Jingxi, the people are well fed, the strong are cultivated, the merchants are engaged, and the women are weaving, so why ask for ghosts and gods?"

He couldn't say the concise and concise words of later generations that had been tempered for thousands of years, but Kong Ming felt that it was the same as when he heard the story of the Family before.

In the exercise of power, when the country retreats, it becomes powerful and powerful.

The same goes for local people's livelihood. If the warehouse is full, the Yellow Turban will retreat, and if the warehouse is empty, chaos will arise.

After all, for the people in Jingyi and Jingyi, instead of praying to ghosts and gods, how about plowing the land honestly and learning two skills that are close to their own? If they have spare money, they can try to drink tea with merchants and learn how to do business. .

Isn't this more useful than Taiping Road?
