Chapter 77 Final Preparations (Update Coming Soon)
The blazing fire attracted the attention of Harry and Ron.
Harry looked back at the castle nervously. He wondered if the professors in the castle would notice the abnormality here.
Ron's mind was full of worries. The fire in the sky dimmed the stars. The night at the other end of the horizon seemed to be dispersed by water and turned orange-red. Mr. Riddle had not returned yet.
After so many things, Ron's legs seemed to float up and turned into a wisp of smoke, but his head was very heavy. But at this moment he seemed to have forgotten the horror of the Forbidden Forest and his fear of spiders.
"No, Harry, I have to go find her!" Ron said resolutely.
He didn't care about Mr. Riddle, but Ginny - that's his sister!
"Let's go!" Harry didn't care about his physical fatigue, nor did he think about the fact that he had just escaped from death for less than a few hours. He stood up with Ron without hesitation, took a deep breath, and stepped towards the Forbidden Forest again with a determined face.
However, before the two of them reached the edge of the Forbidden Forest, they saw a small shadow coming out of the jungle.
"Ginny!" Ron's heart jumped, as if he had regained his vitality. Only then did he feel that he was standing on the ground, with a solid ground under his feet.
He rushed towards the shadow, tripped himself in a hurry, and rolled in the mud. But this did not stop him from moving forward, and he fell to Cyrus' feet.
"What are you... doing?" Cyrus did not expect Ron to do such a great courtesy as soon as they met, and looked at him in surprise.
"Are you okay, Ginny!"
"Not even a hair was hurt." Cyrus did not correct Ron's address, but just stretched out his hand and shook his hair to show that he was safe and sound: "Those spiders refused to let me go, thinking that the large number could drag me to death, so I had to spend some time to kill them all."
He said lightly, which made Harry and Ron feel a little terrified, so that the two silly children suddenly realized that they were not as worried about each other as they were about the spiders.
"Killed them all?"
"I dare say Hagrid will be very sad after he is released from prison."
"Sad? Maybe he won't be sad if those spiders eat us." Ron complained, "It's almost dawn, let's go back quickly. Otherwise, it will be bad if the professors catch us."
Harry put an invisible cloak on Ron, and Cyrus cast a spell.
After returning to the Gryffindor tower, they didn't go back to the room, but simply rested on the sofa in the common room. Cyrus fed Harry and Ron a large bottle of vitality potion to make them a little more energetic. Harry also told Cyrus his guess while others were still asleep.
"It was indeed Myrtle who was killed fifty years ago, but I'm afraid she doesn't have any clues, otherwise Hagrid's injustice would have been washed away long ago." Cyrus said apologetically.
"Don't feel guilty, it's not your fault. Raising an acromantula in school is no better than raising another monster." Ron still had a lot of resentment towards Hagrid, but no one would be more tolerant than him in this situation.
"We'll have to try anyway." Harry didn't want to miss any chance.
"We were in that bathroom, only three toilets away from her, and we didn't get to ask her." Ron said distressedly, "Now..."
These days, looking for spiders is enough for them. Want to avoid teachers for a long time and sneak into the girls' bathroom?
It's impossible!
Professor McGonagall almost forbids students to go to any place that is not related to the dormitory, classroom or hall. Not to mention that this girls' bathroom is not somewhere else, but right next to the scene of the first attack--
"We can use the invisibility cloak to go there at night, just like today." Harry said.
"It's different inside the castle and outside the castle. And you can't communicate with Myrtle wearing an invisibility cloak, she will definitely not be happy about it." Cyrus said, "She is too sensitive, she will cry and make a fuss over a little thing, and will definitely attract professors. You know what there is a saying, Harry-the murderer will always return to the scene of the crime-by then we will have no way to defend ourselves."
Harry and Ron sighed at the same time.
Cyrus certainly had a way to let them avoid the professors' sight and communicate with Myrtle, but it was not possible now, as he had one last bit of preparation to complete.
After sacrificing the lives of so many Acromantulas, the Philosopher's Stone seemed to have taken shape, but it would take some time for it to completely solidify. He also had to find a chance to hide the unformed "life" in the crucible into the Room of Requirement, waiting for the moment of true transformation.
And it wouldn't be long.
——
"I'm afraid it won't be long before Tom takes action."
Dumbledore stood on the edge of the Black Lake, looking at the ancient and huge castle shrouded in darkness from afar. At the other end of the Forbidden Forest, the glimmer of dawn had slowly begun to drive away the darkness, and a faint mist filled the forest, but it would take some time to wait until the sky was completely bright.
Dumbledore was waiting.
It had been more than a month since he left Hogwarts, so he certainly hadn't done nothing.
These days, he first visited the school directors and tried to persuade them to cancel the previous proposal. This was much easier than he thought, because several school directors agreed to Malfoy's proposal not because they really wanted to drive him away, but because they were threatened by Malfoy and had to sign.
Now, Dumbledore has already obtained the documents in advance that the school directors agreed to his continued position as the headmaster, but he did not disclose this matter, let alone return to Hogwarts.
He is waiting for an opportunity to avoid alerting the enemy.
And he believes that this time will come soon.
Even if he is not in Hogwarts, Dumbledore still has various ways to obtain information in the school. Not to mention that three of the four deans headed by Professor McGonagall are loyal to him, even Snape has no reason to betray him and return to the arms of the Dark Lord.
Not to mention that the decision of the school board has no effect on the fact that he is the "headmaster" truly recognized by the castle of Hogwarts.
It seems that he was driven away, but in fact, the mechanisms, portraits, sculptures... in the castle are all loyal to him. At that time, he said to Harry: "Only when everyone here betrays me, I will truly leave this school." It refers not only to Harry.
Now, Dumbledore is waiting for a signal. He believes that Tom Riddle will not give up with his character. The next attack will reveal his true face.
But before that, he has one last preparation to make.
He turned around, and the dawn light rose behind him, as if he was wearing a cloak of morning light.
