A Day at Hogwarts

Chapter 338 Kidnapped Again

On Monday morning, Harry finally came out of the school infirmary and went directly to the cafeteria for breakfast. Ron helped him bring his textbooks for class.

"Where's Charles?" Harry suddenly found that there was one less person on the table when he started eating.

Seamus shook his head and said, "I don't know. He didn't go back to the dormitory last night."

Professor McGonagall's face was gloomy, and she looked at the long table of Gryffindor from time to time.

In the past, there were students who came back late on the day of Hogsmeade Week. Most of them forgot the time in the Hog's Head Bar, but staying out overnight without permission was a serious violation of school rules, and no one dared to do so.

In the past, Charles had reported to the Centaur tribe, but he definitely didn't report yesterday.

The students also found that Charles was not in the cafeteria. When they found out that he didn't come back last night, they immediately talked about it.

Some people thought that Charles was captured by Dementors, some thought that he had been assassinated by Snape, and naturally many people speculated that he was killed by Black.

A wet owl flew into the cafeteria, spilling rain along the way. Many students who were caught wanted to see who it was delivering the letter to, so as to settle accounts with the recipient later.

But this plan soon fell through, as the owl from the Diagon Alley Post Office landed on Dumbledore's head.

Dumbledore took the owl off his head and saw a bag tied to its leg. He thought it was an old friend who had sent him something. After untying it, he reached in and touched it, and his expression sank.

There was only one thing in the bag, a wand, 460 mm long, with a piece of parchment tied to it.

It took Dumbledore a lot of effort to pull out such a long wand, and many students saw it.

With such a long wand, everyone knew who it belonged to at a glance.

Neville shouted in surprise: "Charles was kidnapped!"

Dean Thomas asked: "How do you know he was kidnapped?"

"Maybe he lost his wand and someone picked it up."

He came from a Muggle family and was not familiar with some details of life among wizards.

Neville, who was born in the 28th flag of Britain, answered: "When wizards are kidnapped, it's like this. The kidnappers send the kidnapped wizard's wand to his family with a request tied to it."

Ron also said worriedly: "Yes, when the mysterious man was still there, his men often did this."

"This time it might be Black who did it. Charles was on his way back from Hogsmeade."

Lavender said worriedly: "What can we do then!"

Hermione, who was sitting opposite, said: "Don't worry, he will be fine."

Ron glanced at Hermione and muttered: "It's not your Crookshanks who was kidnapped, of course there's no need to worry."

Hermione just paused, ignored him, and continued to eat roasted tomatoes.

Harry said to Ron: "Don't worry about Charles, he has experience with being kidnapped."

In the professor's seat, Professor McGonagall also saw Charles' wand, and the spoon in her hand fell into the bowl, and a few drops of oatmeal splashed on her robes.

Dumbledore said to her calmly, "Don't worry. I suspect Charles forgot to ask for leave when he went out to play, so I came up with this idea to pretend that he was kidnapped."

He knew Charles' strength better. No one could have thought that a third-year student would Apparate. If he wanted to run, he couldn't be stopped.

Several professors around him thought that what the principal said made sense. Charles was not a pushover. It was no problem for him to run away.

Professor Delacour asked Dumbledore, "Principal, could it be Black?"

Charles had always left him with the impression of a good boy. Recently, Britain has been promoting Black's cruelty in a long article, which made him a little worried.

Dumbledore frowned after reading the parchment tied to his wand.

Professor McGonagall wanted to take the parchment, but Dumbledore didn't give it to her. Instead, he gave it to Lupin, and then the two left.

At the same time, in Bergen, Norway, more than 600 kilometers east of Hogwarts, Charles looked depressed at the seafood such as salmon, Arctic sweet shrimp and king crab in the bustling market outside the window. In front of him were only French fries and hamburgers from Lanlan Road.

Charles felt that the kidnappers were quite smart. They ran abroad immediately after kidnapping him. Moreover, the distance from Hogwarts to Bergen was less than 100 kilometers than to London, which was much easier.

He estimated that the place of negotiation between the kidnappers and Hogwarts would not be in the UK, but perhaps in Iceland or even Greenland.

There were at least four kidnappers in this group. They sounded like a family from the United States, a disabled old father, two women of a certain age, and a handsome young man.

They did not look like cruel people. They just asked Charles' name and wanted to take his wand, and then locked him up in this small hotel, leaving the young man to take care of him.

The young man just moved a chair and sat at the door, flipping through a magazine about motorcycles in his hand, and said nothing.

Charles ate breakfast and looked at the person who was guarding him from time to time. This person was about 20 years old, with black hair and strangely white skin.

If he smiled, he would be a sunny boy who was loved by young girls and wives, but now he had a gloomy face and looked very hesitant, which could arouse the maternal love of middle-aged women.

Charles, who was familiar with this skin color, suddenly said to him, "Black, you are a werewolf, right?"

"How do you know..." The young man looked up in surprise, and immediately denied it, "My last name is not Black, you got the wrong person."

Charles smiled. Half of the ten black-haired families in Europe and America have the surname Black. His skin is as pale as Lupin's. In addition, the antidote for werewolves was exposed not long ago and is related to him, so he can quickly guess some clues.

"Are you here for the antidote for werewolves?" Charles said while chewing a hamburger. "I guess you are in a hurry, but unfortunately, this medicine is still in the experiment and there is not much."

He hoped that this group of people came for the antidote for werewolves. If they came for money, they would blackmail the old man. Maybe the old man would kill someone and then remember to ask them where to lock him up.

The young man was silent and just looked at him quietly.

Charles finished chewing the hamburger and ate French fries and continued: "I think your family is mainly for you. You look at the right age. Is there a girl you love deeply who dumped you because you are a werewolf?"

"I guess you have a rival in love. The woman you love deeply may be more affectionate to him."

After he finished speaking, he felt that he guessed right. The young handsome man's hand tightly grasped the magazine, and his knuckles became whiter.

"How did you know that?" The handsome young man stood up and walked to Charles.

Charles shrugged and said, "I guessed."
