Mysteries of the Earthsea

Chapter 72

In the captain's room of the Narwhal, Charles focused his attention on the chart on the table. The experimental interactive island and the third laboratory had been marked on it, and the abnormalities of these two places were written beside it. He wanted to find out the connection between the two.

"Do you think that the people in Earth Sea were brought down by them?"

Charles shook his head. "Then why there are no traces of them in Earth Sea, history books, myths, even the Revelation of the Sun God Sect, there are only high sun gods, not even divine envoys."

"Who knows, let me tell you, just leave them alone, whoever you love, anyway, they are all dead now."

"This is illogical. The Foundation not only has advanced technology, but also has a large number of relics. Its existence cannot be so silent. I always feel that our search for the surface entrance has nothing to do with them."

"If you really want to think this way, why don't you make a bigger guess? For example, there is a cataclysm on the surface of the earth, and then they take the rest of the human race to escape to the ground to survive. I seem to be thinking about this plot I read it in the Bible, Noah's Ark!"

Charles felt inexplicably irritated, and the whisper that he hadn't seen for a long time grew louder in his ears.

"Squeak~" The door was pushed open, and Dipper carefully poked his head in with a plate of things.

"Captain, the sailors and I salvaged a fluorescent giant crab, and I brought you the best meat from the crab's claws."

There were long strips of white meat on the plate in Dipper's hand, which looked very smooth and tender.

"Put it on the table and knock on the door next time you come in." Charles never took his eyes off the chart.

Dipper put down softly and wanted to leave, but was stopped by Charles. When he saw Charles handing him a mask, the boy's breathing became a little short of breath.

"Don't you want a relic? This is for you." Charles handed over the unmoving clown mask again.

Di Pu's face suddenly became ecstatic, he had seen the power of this thing before, but he didn't expect the captain to give it to him.

Excited Dipper was about to pick it up when Charles shrank back. He looked at his boatswain seriously and told him about the rules for using this thing. Neuropathy full of various personalities.

Hearing what Charles said, Di Pu hesitated, but in the end he reached out to take it. He held the 096 and said, "Captain, I will be careful."

"Go out, by the way, call the doctor over." Charles rubbed his forehead with his hands.

"Hey, just give it to that kid?" Richard controlled his body, grabbed the crab meat with his hand and stuffed it into his mouth.

"We don't need that thing anyway, and giving it to him can increase our overall strength." Charles swallowed the crab meat in his mouth and continued to look at the chart.

Not long after, the doctor came in shaking his iron legs, "Are you looking for me?"

"Give me some more medicine, and the hallucinations are starting to get worse again." Charles looked up at him.

"It's serious again?" The doctor conducted a series of examinations on Charle with some puzzlement.

After a long time, he put the iron hand on the table and thought for a while, then said: "You know, I can only suppress the curse of the gods, right?"

"Of course, you said it before."

The doctor said again: "I do have another medicine that can eliminate your auditory hallucinations, but if you really use that medicine, your life will not be long."

"Is there no other way?"

"Either go back to the island to rest for a few months, I'll use other potions to help you recuperate, or you find someone else to clean up the curse of the gods."

Before Charles could speak, the doctor said again: "I suggest you choose the former. I have been at sea for so many years, and I have never seen anyone who can cure the curse of the gods, and your current abnormality is the curse of the gods plus the sea area. The mental pollution caused by it is superimposed, and the easiest way to alleviate it is to go to the island to recuperate."

Looking at the islands on the chart, Charles showed a trace of hesitation. The exits on the surface are among these islands. It would be more uncomfortable for him to stop now than to kill him.

The doctor seemed to know what Charles meant, and he brought that horrified face closer and said, "I know you are not afraid of death, you can even give up your life for your purpose, but you can't think about your crew? The chief engineer asked me a few days ago I helped him treat it, his auditory hallucinations are already serious, he didn't tell you because he was afraid of delaying your business."

Charles' heart skipped a beat. "Besides James having auditory hallucinations, who else has them?"

"Except for a few new guys, everyone else is a little bit. I can cure their auditory hallucinations, but I can't help them with their tense mental pressure. Don't you think this time is a bit too urgent? I have never I have seen such a diligent exploration captain."

Charles tapped his fingers on the table rhythmically and remained silent.

After a few seconds he looked up. "Understood, after going back this time, I will take a break from sailing for a while."

An ugly smile appeared on the doctor's face, and he patted Charles on the shoulder with his hand, "Attention, what I mean by self-cultivation is complete relaxation, you are still so young, don't work so hard."

After speaking, he raised his iron leg and limped out.

The way back to the island was as normal as ever. More than ten days later, the lights of Coral Island Lighthouse swept over the Narwhal, and they went home.

Looking at the brightly lit port, every crew member had excited smiles on their faces, except Charles.

Back on the pier, Charles called everyone to the deck and announced the temporary suspension of sailing.

"Everyone take this time to have a good rest, the resumption notice, I will let Lily's mouse notify everyone, and we are disbanding now."

For this news, every member of the crew showed joy on their faces. Although they made enough money on this ship, they had too little time to rest on the shore, so they could finally have a good rest.

After all the crew left, Charles alone drove the Narwhal into the ship repair yard for maintenance. People need rest, and so does the ship.

Watching the layers of barnacles under the boat being stripped by the boatman, Charles waved at the hoisted Narwhal and turned away.

Walking out of the shipyard, Charles walked straight to the Explorers' Association. He still had one thing to do.

As soon as he walked into the lobby of the Explorers Association, Charles found that it was very lively inside. The captains of various exploration ships were talking in groups, exchanging relics and information with each other.

Life at sea blurred the date, and he realized it was Saturday.

Charles walked into the crowd, his two eyeballs spread out and quickly searched, and soon found Elizabeth who was hugging a young girl, and she was chatting happily with the familiar captains.
