My Strength Does Not Allow Me to Low-Key

2036 The Best Alternatives to Clean Energy

Brothers, I have opened a new book again: Restarting Life: I can call myself ten years ago. Brothers, help me collect it and give some recommendations!

Because of this state, a large amount of new energy power generation equipment is used.

Proportionally, Texas' solar and wind power generation account for about one-third of their state's electricity consumption.

But when the cold wave hit, those big windmills were frozen, and the surface of the solar panels was also covered with ice.

The two power plants were simply unable to generate electricity normally, which naturally caused the state's power supply system to be paralyzed.

The power supply system was paralyzed, leading to an energy crisis in the state.

The biggest victims of that energy crisis were the sick and wounded waiting for emergency treatment in hospitals.

As a result, countless patients who were not seriously ill died because of the blackout.

What’s even more exaggerated is that many elderly people even froze to death at home.

So that crisis gave us a wake-up call.

With such lessons learned, we naturally should not give up on ordinary coal-fired power plants easily.

At least a considerable part should be retained as a backup means.

Once a new energy power plant encounters an extreme environment, it cannot provide normal power supply.

These backup thermal power will be restarted and burned to assume the role of supplying power to cities and enterprises.

But the question is, do we still want those thermal power companies to burn coal?

Someone has done calculations of calorific value before.

The calorific value of one kilogram of coal is about 33.5 kilojoules, which refers to high-quality anthracite.

The calorific value of one cubic meter of natural gas is higher, about 39 kilojoules.

The calorific value of one kilogram of ethanol is about 30.3 kilojoules, which is slightly lower than coal and natural gas.

Therefore, many countries in Europe have changed their thermal power plants from burning coal to burning natural gas.

Because natural gas has a higher calorific value and produces less pollution.

Although burning natural gas will eventually produce carbon dioxide, there is no dust or smoke, and no other harmful gases are produced.

Especially dangerous gases such as sulfur dioxide and nitric oxide.

In addition, there is no solid cinder produced, and there is no need to worry about solid waste.

Therefore, this is also the main reason why the world is currently advocating the use of LNG as a clean fuel.

But in fact, if ethanol is used as fuel, the environmental protection capability will be better.

Because if ethanol is used as fuel, there is no need to worry about the production of solid residues.

And the final waste gas produced is also only carbon dioxide and water, which is cleaner than burning natural gas.

Because in addition to methane, natural gas also contains other impurity gases.

Therefore, ethanol is also a clean fuel relatively speaking.

The only disadvantage is that the calorific value is relatively low. If you want to get the same heat as burning coal and natural gas, you have to burn more ethanol.

Why didn’t ethanol become the main clean energy reserve raw material before?

Quite simply, it's because the price of this thing is relatively high.

Previously, there were two main sources of ethanol, one was chemical production.

It is the step of coal chemical industry, which is to prepare coal into methanol, and then decompose ethanol from methanol.

Another one is grain fermentation.

In the past, the main raw material was corn, which was fermented, degraded and purified, and finally a large amount of ethanol was obtained.

Then the ethanol is mainly mixed into gasoline to make ethanol gasoline and sell it to the outside world.

A few years ago, when the world economy was operating normally, the price of coal was basically around 300-1,000 yuan per ton.

The price of poor coal with low calorific value is about 300-600 yuan per ton.

The calorific value of these coals is mostly between 2700-4500 calories per kilogram.

But if it is high-grade thermal coal with a calorific value of more than 5,000 calories, the price will rise to about 900-1,000 yuan.

At that time, the CIF price of LNG was around 1,500 to 2,000 yuan per ton.

However, considering the carbon emission standards, coal-to-gas conversion was still feasible at that time.

But two years later, the global economy was fluctuating due to the pandemic.

After the prices of various commodities increased all at once, the situation completely changed.

For example, the price of coal, even the most common low-calorie coal, has risen to about 1,500 yuan per ton.

The price of thermal coal with a calorific value of more than 5,000 calories has risen directly to more than 2,600 yuan.

Even at such a price, there is still a situation of price but no market.

The price of LNG, due to tight global supply, has now exceeded 5,000 yuan per ton, and has even gone straight to 6,000 yuan per ton.

This makes it unbearable for our domestic power supply and heating companies.

At this time, ethanol, which was previously looked down upon by everyone, has regained its market place.

Although its calorific value is relatively low, compared with the best anthracite, its calorific value per kilogram is not much lower.

In addition, it is more environmentally friendly.

There is no smoke or dust produced after combustion, and there is no stock residue to dispose of.

Calculated in this way, ethanol has become a perfect new fuel substitute.

Even after several rounds of sharp increases in fuel prices, the market price of ethanol is still around 3,500 yuan per ton.

Therefore, ethanol at this time is relatively more marketable.

But compared with coal, it is still slightly expensive.

But when it comes to economics, LNG has already surpassed LNG.

Our country has also wanted to import LNG in large quantities before. After all, we are a country poor in natural gas.

If you want to use this clean energy, you need to import a large amount of it from the Middle East every year.

And importing LNG requires shipbuilding, storage and maintenance. Anyway, this thing is not very cost-effective no matter how you calculate it.

According to the current development of the global economic situation, all countries have triggered a large amount of currency in order to save the economy.

This means that there will be no major technological breakthroughs for a long time in the future.

It is difficult for commodity prices on the market to come down within a period of time.

As a result, energy prices will remain high in the next year or even several years.

And this is the main purpose of Xiao Feng asking Pan American Agricultural Development Company to develop a super corn.

The purpose is to bring down the price of ethanol and then use ethanol as our domestic reserve energy.

After all, compared to LNG, Xiao Feng believes that clean energy such as ethanol is more reliable.

Because this energy is renewable and the production capacity is controllable by ourselves.

If you want to produce ethanol in large quantities, in addition to improving the production process and storage technology on the one hand.

On the other hand, it is natural to work hard on raw materials.

After all, more corn is the key to ethanol production.

Because most of the ethanol currently on the market is almost entirely extracted through corn processing.

Moreover, growing more corn also has the advantage of lowering the price of feed.

This can greatly increase the cost of raising cattle, sheep, pigs, chickens and other livestock in my country.

In the past two decades, with the rapid development of our country's economy, the quality of life and dietary structure of our people have been constantly changing.

Just like before, the main problem we had to solve was filling our stomachs.

With the advancement of agricultural production methods, we can have a bumper harvest of food every year, so keeping people full is no longer a problem.

But what we have to face next is how to let the people eat well.

According to our own diet science survey, we found that although our people have solved the problem of food and clothing, we still have many unreasonable dietary structures.

For example, our country is currently the country with the highest incidence of diabetes in the world...

Moreover, research by the world’s top scientific institutions also found that our country’s dietary structure has nothing to do with safe diet.

It even ranks outside of fifty places globally.

But our neighbors, Japan and the Southern Dynasties, are ranked among the top ten in the world.

Now many people don’t understand, how is this possible?

You want to say that Japanese food is healthy, and we believe this, because their food is indeed light.

But you said that the diet of the Southern Dynasties is healthier than ours. How is this possible?

You see, they eat kimchi from meal to meal without any oil or water at all. How can it be healthier than our diet?

Although many people are dissatisfied, the reality is that it is precisely because people eat less oil, or they do not know how to eat stir-fry at all.

That’s why their diet is healthier. Kimchi is indeed not healthy, but compared with our daily stir-fried vegetables, it is still much healthier.

Another reason why our country’s diet has a low health index is that we eat too many staple foods.

It’s just that we eat too much rice and noodles. In other words, our dietary philosophy is actually wrong.

Many older generations believe that people gain weight because they eat too much meat.

But in fact, it is true that people gain weight not because they eat too much meat, but because they consume too much starch.

The main sources of starch we consume are rice and white flour.

According to scientific research, an adult should consume about 240 grams of whole wheat products, that is, starch, every day.

To put it more directly, a bowl of white rice is enough.

In other words, a bowl of rice a day for an adult is enough starch. But the problem is that we eat a lot of rice and white noodles almost every day.

For example, eat fried dough sticks in the morning, rice at noon, and noodles in the evening.

Too much carbohydrate intake can lead to obesity, which will eventually lead to diabetes.

In recent years, with the popularization of medical science, people have paid more and more attention to the concept of health.

Food concepts that have been formed for a long time are also changing.

Many families have begun to gradually adjust their diet structure and begin to increase the protein content in their diet.

This requires eating more meat, but where does the meat come from?

Originally, we were a big pig-raising country, but with the diversification of people's diet, more and more people began to eat beef, mutton, and only fish.

And our own output is not enough, we can only import a large amount from abroad every year...

And not only do we import various kinds of finished meat, but we also import a large amount of feed from overseas every year...
